Inhambane Mozambique
Inhambane is in Southern Mozambique and is the country’s
premier tourist destination. Stretching from Quissico in the South
to Nova Mambone in the North, Inhambane has Indian Ocean holiday
destinations of all types, to suit every budget.
Inhambane has such famous locations as Praia do Tofo, Praia dos
Cocos, Ponto do Barra, Vilankulo, Ilha de Benquerra, Guinjata Bay
and more.
Accommodation ranges from camping and backpacking, through self-catering
cabanas to private guest houses and luxury lodges.
Scuba diving in Inhambane is amongst the best in the world, with
reefs close to every beach, including the world famous Manta Reef
and Gallaria. Regular sightings of Giant Manta Rays, Whale Sharks,
Turtles and other teeming marine life are the norm. There are many
professional scuba diving operations throughout the province. Snorkeling
is also excellent.

Inhambane – glorious beaches, fantastic weather, splendid
seafood and friendly locals all make a holiday in Mozambique an
affordable and unforgettable experience.
Also, Inhambane is a photographers dream; it possesses a unique
charm that can only originate from a rusty old town with delapidated
buildings and neglected maintenance. It is worth exploring the fascinating
mix of African, old-world Portugese and muslim cultures.
While little more than two main roadways, Inhambane offers a comforting
break on the journey north to Beira, or to the beautiful beaches
of Tofo.

The main boulevard, directly opposite the ferry port, offers small shops,
the central market, some banking services (no travellers cheques) and
possibly the best fresh bread in all of Mozambique. Minibuses leave from
behind the Market regularly - 15,000 Meticais one-way. Inhambane also
offers decent Internet access at 50,000 per hour, though regular power
disruptions may mean a lost email or two.
