My wife and I spent 2 nights in the Woldwedans Dunes
Lodge as part of our honeymoon. The Wolwedans was our first lodge
in Namibia; we began the journey with an absolute highlight. The
private Namib Rand Nature Reserve is scenic; the Namib Rand is beautiful
in our eyes and nearby Sossusvlei. The picturesque stone and rock
formations, the seemingly endless plains, the thousands of Oryx,
zebra, kudu and giraffe – it makes this place unique.
An absolute must for any trip to Namibia. The Dunes Lodge is situated
on a small hill with a beautiful vision. The rooms are all built
on a raised wooden construction and are in principle fixed tents
which can be opened at the front. Each tent has its own bathroom,
a large bed and a little toward the front porch / balcony from where
you can admire the beautiful starry sky. There is great emphasis
on sustainability solar is the only power source in the hotel and
on the education of the population down. |
