Hlalanathi

For many years the Drakensberg was thought to be a place of great mystery and Legends. Through the ages though, man has explored these icy crags and lonely peaks, bringing tales of Bushmen and splendid sights.
In an age where nature seems to be forgotten and time has no value, there are but few retreats left in Africa that can revitalise ones soul and make you feel truly alive.

Tucked away in a valley, shadowed by a mighty mountain is one such place. On the foothills of the Northern Drakensberg you will find us, Hlalanathi Drakensberg Resort.
The farm has been in the ownership of the van Rensburg family since 1932. Hans van Rensburg for many years allowed the overflow of the Royal natal National Park campsite to camp on the property.
The present resort was started by Jack and Heather van Rensburg in 1983. At present there are 16 self-catering thatched chalets and 56 electrified caravan/ tent sites.

Guests enjoy the quaint restaurant Thyme @ the Berg with its festive pub. The now well-established gardens with the mountains as the view, entice folk to laze and relax!

However, for the more active, Hlalanathi boasts one of the finest golf courses. Even if you aren't a golfer, a walk around the manicured course to enjoy the peace of the rolling terrain, the water features and bird life is a treat not to be missed.
At Hlalanathi you can enjoy a top-rated resort with well-maintained facilities, reasonable prices and the opportunity to meet great people.

Hlalanathi is priveleged to be a family heritage set with the most magnificent view of the recently proclaimed Unesco World Heritage site, the Amphitheatre of the Natal Drakensberg Park.
