Nestled in Leeugedacht adjoining the Dinokeng Big 5 conservancy in Dinokeng, Mahala View is all about lions. Meet Leon van Biljon, The Lion Man, a man with a passion for these creatures and a remarkable insight into their nature, habits and behaviour. Guest can stay overnight and enjoy being close to these majestic animals. This lion lodge offers a variety of accommodation within the lion
camp. This lodge is surrounded by electric fencing to protect the
occupants from the lions. The lions can also be moved to another
camp on guest’s request. The other chalets are located either
a short distance from the camp for privacy or near the main building
close to the swimming pool. |

Mahala View Accommodation
Double Story Units - Self catering
These units are named after one of the lions in the camp. The upper level
and the lower level have double beds and single beds with en-suite bathrooms.
The units also have verandas overlooking the lower lion camp.
Duiker Chalet - Self catering
This is a lovely spacious open-plan chalet with an en-suite bathroom.
The room has a double bed and a single bed. A lovely veranda overlooks
the mountain and swimming pool.
King's View Chalets - Self catering
The three King’s View Chalets are situated slightly higher up the
mountain and have an even further stretching view, as well as blissful
privacy. The open-plan chalets each have a double bed and an en-suite
bathroom. Two of the chalets have an extra single bed. They all have verandas
overlooking the lions camp and the valley below. Please note that 4x4
vehicles are needed to access the King’s View units
Lion's Den Guest House - Self catering
The house is a beautiful two-bedroom guest house inside the lion camp.
It is the perfect place for four to six people to share some time together
right in lion territory. The main bedroom has a double bed and a single
bed with an en-suite bathroom. The second room has a double bed and two
single beds with an en-suite bathroom. A spacious and comfortable lounge
area leads to an open-plan kitchen area. The outside braai area has seating
in a beatiful private garden. This is the ideal place for friends to gather
and enjoy a safe encounter with the king of Africa. The lions can also
be channelled to another camp should the clients feel restless being so
close to the king of Africa. The house has electric fencing and is reached
by a secure bridge.
Main Guest House - Self catering
This house has an unique rustic honeymoon suite with open-plan jet bath
and shower. Adjacent is a wooden veranda which views into the lion camp
where you can leisure in comfort. The two additional bedrooms adjoining
share a second bathroom. This is ideal for a family or close friends.
Guest will find a kitchen kiosk ideal for an early morning coffee.
