Mapungubwe National Park and World Heritage

skies, hear the echo of elephant trumpets, take a tree top walk
or just relax and absorb the surroundings.
Mapungubwe National Park and World Heritage Site is rich in biodiversity,
great scenic beauty and the cultural importance of the archaeological
treasures of Mapungubwe.
The major attractions are the great number and variety of archaeological
sites; San art sites, game and Big Five experiences, unusually large
examples of numerous trees including baobabs and climbing figs,
scenery,“moon landscapes” of sandstone formations; bird
life, eco routes and “three country” experiences.

Mapungubwe National Park Accommodation
The Mazhou Camping Site in Mapungubwe National Park
is situated close to the Limpopo Forest Tented Camp, in the western section
of the park.
It caters for 10 caravans or tents.
Each campsite is equipped with a power point.

Each site permits six people.
Leokwe Camp
This is Mapungubwe’s main camp which is located in the eastern section
of the park, in the spectacular sandstone hills. Close to the camp, guests
can enjoy the Treetop Hide and the Confluence View Site and picnic area.
The camp itself has a swimming pool and sun deck, as well as a central
braai area.

Each unit offers two single beds and one double sleeper couch.

Limpopo Forest Camp
This camp is situated in the Limpopo riverine forest, which offers excellent
birding and it is located in the western section of the park.
The camp is close to the Maloutswa Pan hide.

Each unit has two single beds, a kitchen and an en-suite bathroom with
a toilet and shower.

Vhembe Wilderness Camp
In the eastern section of Mapungubwe National Park, Vhembe Wilderness
Camp has been built on a small ridge within a valley, within walking distance
of the Limpopo River and Mapungubwe Hill.
The cabins provide two single beds each with an en-suite bathroom.
The camp runs on solar-generated electricity and no plug points are available
in the units.
The four units share a central, fully-equipped communal kitchen and lapa.

Tshugulu Lodge
This luxury lodge sleeps 12 people in the guest lodge and has six bedrooms,
a bath, en-suite swimming pool and an exclusive eco-trail.
It is located within the Mapungubwe National Park where you can see elephant,
giraffe, warthogs, bushbuck, birdlife and enjoy exquisite landscape views
over the Limpopo River.
Bush Lodge
