Through the ages, the broad Olifants river has cut deeply into the ground, leaving a deep valley that is filled with a variety of indigenous fauna and flora, including the protected Cycad's. Bird life is plentiful and a stay at the Olifants River Lodge will guarantee the delight of any birding enthusiast.
The Olifants River itself winds past the Lodge, and provides an ideal setting for sipping sundowners, whilst watching a magical Mpumalanga sunset.
The Olifants River Lodge is situated 20 Kilometres outside of Middelburg, Mpumalanga. There are bold signs to direct you to a place where you truly can put your feet up and have a rest from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Olifants River Lodge Accommodation
Various luxury accommodation ranging from thatched rondavels to cabanas and self-catering villas. All units, either serviced or self catering, have en-suite bathrooms.
Ideal for couples, the one en-suite rondawels come with meals included. As with all the other accommodation available, a host of facilities are available for you to enjoy with this splendid breakaway.
Our large self catering Cabanas offer you a home away from home. This is an open plan unit with a loft room, with a fully equipped kitchen. You cannot beat this choice to relax and breakaway from the hustle of everyday life.
For the larger families. These two and three bedroom Villas offer the ultimate spacious accommodation. All the Villas are equipped with all the standard luxuries and are self-catering.
Caravan camping sites available on the brinks of the river with well-appointed ablutions.
Villas
The Villas are luxury double story units that has the living area at the
bottom and the sleeping area on the second floor. These units all have
2 bedrooms & 3 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms.
A private patio with a built-in braaier is located as you move out of the sitting room. There you will find a patio table with chairs to enjoy your food in the fresh air of nature. A car port for each unit is located close to the villas. Additional parking space is available if you have a trailer.
What you can expect at the Villa:
A fully equipped kitchen with a stove, oven, microwave oven and medium
fridge. Plates, glasses and cups enough for 4 - 6 people. Air conditioner
to cool the kitchen and the family room. Lounge suite and a colour TV
with selected DSTV channels. These include SABC1, SABC2, etc
The 2 bedrooms units have two single beds per room with one blanket each. An extra blanket for each bed can be found inside the cupboard. The cupboard is standard with 3 shelves and hanging space.
The 3 bedroom units have 4 single beds and one double bed with one blanket each. The cupboard is standard with 3 shelves and hanging space. The bathrooms have hand soap, hand towels and bath towels. The towels are not allowed to be used outside the units.

Thatched Rondavels
Ideal for couples, these en-suite rondavels come with meals included (Dinner,
Bed and Breakfast).
What you can expect at the Rondavel:
A colour TV with selected DSTV channels. These include SABC1, SABC2, etc.
The bathrooms have hand soap and hand towels. Bath towels are available
for your convenience. The towels are not allowed to be used outside the
rondavel.
What you need to bring along to make your stay more pleasurable:

. Braai utensils (can only braai at the swimming pool)

Cabanas
The Cabanas are an open plan units with the living and sleeping area in
one room. It has one double bed and 2 single beds in the loft. The units
have bathrooms and a small kitchen area.
What you can expect at the Cabanas:
In the relaxing family room you will find a double bed, dining table &
4 chairs. Colour TV with selected DSTV channels. These include SABC1,
SABC2, etc. The bathrooms have hand soap, hand towels and bath towels.
The towels are not allowed to be used outside the units.

Camp Sites
The Caravan Camping sites are not graded. These sites are trailing along
the Olifants River bank. The well maintained ablution facilities and open
lawns make this camping area a joy to visit. It is ideal for camping and
caravaning.
Facilities
The Lodge restaurant offers country breakfasts, dinners and Sunday buffets,
combined with open-air terraces to enjoy a cocktail under country starlight.
Conference and Team Building
Our Conference Venue has 6 fully equipped, air conditioned venues ranging
from 20 - 200 persons. Equipment includes: TV’s, VCR’s, OHP’s,
flip charts, electronic lecture boards, photo-copier, typing, faxing and
Internet connection.
The Olifants River Lodge boasts a variety of activities for the whole family to partake in.
Activities
We have a bushveld bar with a pool table and darts. The Lodge offers a
fully licensed restaurant for family meals, or the romantic dinner for
two.
Middelburg also has a beautifully designed and well managed country club offering golf, tennis, squash or lawn bowls to anybody who is keen to play these respective sports. The Middelburg Country Club is no more than 20km away from the Lodge.
If you own a powerboat, sailing dingy or catamaran, Emalahleni has a superb dam that is 35km away. The Emalahleni dam is ideal for both sailors and water skiers alike! The entrance fee to the dam is minimal and can be a fun day out for the entire family.
For the Adults, The Ridge Casino is 35km away towards Emalahleni. It is situated right next to the N12 highway, just outside Emalahleni.
