20km west from Aus is the Garub desert waterpoint where the wild desert horses of Namibia come to drink, sit in the hide early morning or later afternoon and watch the wild horses of Namibia.

There are some lovely walking trails to explore in the hills beside Aus starting out at Desert Horse Inn. Enjoy the marvellous views over the surrounding desert.

A mountain bikers paradise, various trails through the Namibian wilderness with hills, mountains and plains to conquer. Trails are laid out for intermediate to advanced riders.

With so few lights around and little to no light polution Aus is a perfect place to look up and wonder at the stars.

Kolmanskop the deserted ghost town is an hours drive away take the morning to go and wander among the delapidated buildings of the old diamond town.

Such is the raw beauty of Aus and the surrounding landscapes it is easy to just sit and admire the sheer beauty of the area.

Just over an hour away is the coastal town of Luderitz take a drive for a seafood lunch, check out the seal colonies and other sights around this small town.
