Our large older style two-storey house in inner city Newtown (Sydney) is eclectically retro with an open-plan modern extension. The house is filled with Danish modern and Australian retro furniture and decorated with fine ethnic, Aboriginal and contemporary artworks.

The guest bedroom located upstairs is decorated with Oriental bedspread, rugs ornaments and artworks while the adjoining sunroom is a mix of Aboriginal and Australian artefacts.
The guest room overlooks our native garden and historic Camperdown Memorial Park. The suite is ideal for a couple or small family.

Australia Street Guest House was formerly known as Australia Street Bed and Breakfast. From 2005 we no longer serve breakfast but a small kitchenette is available with tea and coffee facilities crockery, fridge, kettle and toaster.

Wireless broadband, fax, email, internet, printing services and DVD, CD players are available, as well as laundry facilities. Street parking available outside house. Owners and hosts are TV producer, artist and teenage daughter who attends Newtown Performing Arts High School.

The guest suite upstairs in our large two storey house has an adjoining sunroom with sitting area overlooking historic Camperdown Park. The two rooms contain a double beds, fold-out sofa bed in sunroom, oil heater, ceiling fan, electric blanket, doonas, desk, TV, CD and DVD player for guests use. They are decorated and furnished with an assortment of Australiana, Oriental modern and vintage pieces.

Adjoining bathroom is exclusively for use with a large renovated bathroom downstairs is also available to guests. Kitchenette has espresso machine, toaster and kettle for coffee, tea and basic breakfast-making facilities with crockery provided.

Laundry and dryer facilities available downstairs.

Access to large garden with tropical plants, herb garden and outdoor eating area. Bikes available for loan. Waffle bathrobes are provided. Ironing board, hair dryer and shoe shine box. Wireless broadband internet access, email, printing and fax facilities available on request.

The suite's bedroom has Oriental furnishings, including an Indian silk bedcover and silk bedside lamps are set against a feature red wall. The adjoining sunroom is retro in design with original 50’s furniture and a collection of Aboriginal ceramic designs from the period. It has a small 50’s desk, cocktail cabinet, radio, TV and DVD player.

There is a ceiling fan above the bed and electric blankets for winter. Waffle bathrobes are provided
