Cairns City Backpackers is small, peaceful, very tropical, and best of all it is ideally located in a quiet backstreet just a short walk from the heart of Cairns and a 5 minute walk to Cairns Central Shopping Centre.

We have a maximum of only 70 guests so it is easy to make lifelong friends here. We are not a party hostel, and have a quiet time/no drinking time from 10.30 pm to allow guests to get a good nights sleep. We give you free bar pub meal vouchers (just buy a drink) so go out and have a good, cheap time.

Cairns City Backpackers is a tropical oasis with a fully landscaped tropical rainforest garden which includes many grand old palm trees, a cute swimming pool and lots of hammocks and sun lounges for you to chill out in.

Naturally we have full laundry and kitchen facilities and for keeping in touch with friends we have free internet. Don't forget to bring your laptops because we have Wifi is completely free!

We offer clean, cheap and comfortable air conditioned single, double, twin, 4 and 6 bed dorms. Please note the double rooms with shower include a shower and handbasin only, the toilet is shared but just down the hall. All rooms have fresh linen and blankets are available free of charge.

Naturally, Cairns City Backpackers has a fully equipped laundry and 3 kitchens for those of you on a budget. The hostel also hosts state of the art hi-tech security lockers for your important possessions.
