These spectacular caves located north of Rockhampton Queensland are a unique system of above ground caves in a limestone ridge. Tours range from easy walking, wheelchair accessible caves to wild caving adventure tours. Spend the night, a variety of accommodation is located onsite. 

Accommodation

Deluxe Cabins- spend the night in tranquility in one of our modern fully self contained spacious 2 bed room cabins. Each cabin is set in a private secluded bush setting.

Honeymoon Cabins- open plan cabin, set in private bush setting. King size bed and fully self contained. Ideally suited to couples.

Standard Cabins- large cabin suitable for the budget conscious or large family, fully self contained 2 bed room cabin sleeps up to ten people.

Lodge- purpose built accommodation to cater for groups, weddings and conferences. 

Conference

Away from the hustle and bustle Capricorn Caves provides a secluded conference venue set in natural bush land. There are two conference and function rooms which can accommodate a variety of layouts with seating for 80 people plus verandahs for socializing or break out groups. 

Catering- our catering team can provide menus to suit group needs and special diets, morning tea and lunches.

Activities- team building and Socializing. Organise something different for your team whether it be a walk through the caves, abseiling, high ropes course, climbing wall challenge or the ultimate adventure caving experience.

Staff Functions- capricorn caves catering and bar facilities are ideal for staff Christmas parties, dinners and functions.

Weddings

Ceremony- looking for a magnificent and unique venue for your wedding? The Cathedral Cave is the perfect location for a wedding. Imagine walking down the red carpet into a stunning Cathedral softly lit by hundreds of candles and the music enhanced by the perfect natural acoustics.

Reception- complete the experience by holding your reception in our undercover outdoor function area.

Caravan Park- the park is nestled amidst native bush land and is the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of cities and travelling.

Events

Summer Solstice Light Spectacle- this dazzling light display, a natural phenomenon unique in the southern hemisphere, occurs throughout December and early January .Due to the alignment of the sun over the Tropic of Capricorn brilliant direct sun light penetrates the darkness of the Belfry Cave through a 14 metre vertical shaft in the cave roof at midday.

Underground Opera Company- outstanding performers, incredible acoustics an experience not to be missed! Underground Opera Company presents some of Australias finest performers singing a selection of Operas greatest arias and duets that resonate through the natural limestone caves.

Directions to Capricorn Caves

From Brisbane
From the south, follow the highway into Rockhampton. The highway becomes George Street. Turn right into Albert Street until you get to the Fitzroy River Bridge. Bolsover Street is the last street on the left before the bridge. Turn left at the lights. We are 20 metres on your right.

From Rockhampton Airport
We are only 3 kms from Rockhampton Airport. Leave the airport, drive along Hunter Street into North Street, continue through the roundabouts, cross the railway line. When you get to the traffic lights, turn right (Bolsover Street). We are 50 metres on the left.

From Mackay
From the north, travel along the highway into Yaamba Road. Drive under the pedestrian walkway until you reach the traffic lights at the Stockland Shopping Centre. Continue until you cross the Fitzroy River bridge and take the first turn right. (Bolsover Street) We are 20 metres on the right.
