With Bungalows, Cabins, Villas and Lodges, including 8 recently added cabins and ongoing refurbishments, the Canberra Carotel offers a multitude of accommodation options. We specialise in group bookings and can cater to your every need.

Bungalows

Our Bungalows are well suited to the cost conscious traveller. They are clusters of 4 rooms that accommodate from 1 to 10 people, making them ideal for individuals and groups. ll Bungalows include linen and contain an ensuite bathroom, heating and cooling for year round comfort, LCD television, tea and coffee making facilities. See below for specific features within each Bungalow type (Small, Family and Large). All Bungalows have also recently been refurbished with brand new mattresses on all beds. Guests staying in Bungalows have full access to all of the Canberra Carotel’s facilities and amenities. All Bungalows are non-smoking and pet-free.

Small Bungalows Small Bungalows are suitable for 1 or 2 guests and include; linen, 1 king bed or 2 king single beds, ensuite bathroom, air conditioning and heating, LCD television, tea and coffee making facilities and fridge.

Family Bungalows Family Bungalows are suitable for up to 5 guests and include; linen, 1 double bed, 3 single beds, ensuite bathroom, air conditioning and heating, LCD television, tea and coffee making facilities and fridge.

Large Bungalows Large Bungalows are suitable for up to 10 guests and include; linen, 5 sets of bunk beds, 2 showers, 2 toilets, air conditioning and heating, LCD television, tea and coffee making facilities, breakfast making facilities, microwave, dining facilities and fridge.

Motel Rooms

Our motels accommodate one to four persons, making them ideal for individual travellers, couples or small families. Their solid construction, air conditioned comfort and king bed enables a relaxing stay. We offer four seperate bed configurations. All our motel rooms are non smoking. Sorry, no pets allowed.

One Bedroom Family Units

Our One Bedroom Family Units are located alongside reception/convenience store and can accommodate from one to seven guests. These rooms are ideal for a large family or small group. All One Bedroom Family Units include; linen, 1 new king split bed, 1 single bed and 2 lounges that convert to bedding for up to four guests. Each unit has a separate bedroom and complete kitchen. Guests staying in Family Cabins have full access to all of the Canberra Carotel’s facilities and amenities. All One Bedroom Family Units are non-smoking and pet-free.

Family Cabins

Our Family Cabins are located adjacent to some of the spacious parklands on the Canberra Carotel site, and can accommodate from 1 to 10 guests. All Family Cabins include linen and towels, an ensuite bathroom, air conditioning, LCD television, kitchenette with microwave, cooktop and dining facilities. Guests staying in Family Cabins have full access to all of the Canberra Carotel’s facilities and amenities. All Family Cabins are non-smoking and pet-free.

Small Family Cabins Small Family Cabins are suitable for up to 3 guests and include; linen, 1 kingbed that can be split, 1 single bed, ensuite bathroom, air conditioning and heating, LCD television, tea and coffee making facilities, kitchenette and microwave, fridge, and dining setting.

Large Family Cabins Large Family Cabins are suitable for up to 10 guests and include; linen, 1 kingbed that can be split, 4 sets of bunk beds, ensuite bathroom, air conditioning and heating, LCD television, tea and coffee making facilities, kitchenette and microwave, fridge, and dining setting.

Two Bedroom Cabins

Our Two Bedroom Cabins are self-contained with a full domestic kitchen, separate bathroom and living area, making them ideal for families and small groups. Their full length balcony and instant gas hot water system add to the comfort of the cabin. All Two Bedroom Cabins include linen, towels, heating and cooling for year round comfort and LCD television. See features table for all inclusions within each Cabin. With 8 of these cabins in close proxitimity of each other, larger groups can be comfortably accommodated in their own area. There is capacity for two cars or a car with trailer to be parked in front of each cabin. Guests staying in our Two Bedroom Cabins have full access to all of the Canberra Carotel’s facilities and amenities. All Two Bedroom Cabins are non-smoking and pet free.

Two Bedroom Villas

Our Villas are well suited to large families and small groups. Totally self-contained, it is your home away from home and closely situated to our swimming pool. Choose one with a spa bathroom or one without. Occupants can enjoy a morning coffee or evening drink on their own balcony. All Villas include linen and contain separate bathroom and toilet, two bedrooms, separate lounge room, air conditioning, LCD television, fully equipped kitchen, and dining facilities and balcony. View features tab for specific inclusions. Guests staying in Villas have full access to all of the Canberra Carotel’s facilities and amenities. All Villas are non-smoking and pet-free.

Family Villas Family Villas are suitable for up to 6 guests and include;1 queen bed in the master bedroom, 1 set of bunk beds, and 1 single bed in the second bedroom, separate bathroom and toilet, separate lounge room, 1 double sofa bed, air conditioning and heating, LCD television, clock radio, tea and coffee making facilities, fully equipped kitchen, microwave, fridge, dining facilities, ironing board, hairdryer and balcony.

Spa Villas Spa Villas are suitable for up to 8 guests and include; 1 king bed in the master bedroom, 2 sets of bunk beds in the second bedroom, 1 double sofa bed, two seater lounge, bathroom with spa, separate lounge room, air conditioning and heating, LCD television, clock radio, tea and coffee making facilities, fully equipped kitchen, microwave, fridge, dining facilities, ironing board, hairdryer, balcony.

Lodges

Our comfortable lodges are perfect for a short or long term stay. Each of our two lodges accommodate 12 people. They are situated near each other, making them very suitable for groups of 24. All rooms are carpeted throughout with reverse cycle air conditioning. The bedrooms (all individual) are supplied with a king single bed, linen and towels, wardrobe, book case, desk and chair. Each lodge has individual toilets and shower rooms plus an internal coin operated laundry. The well appointed commercial kitchen provides dining settings and cooking facilities for 12 people: dishwasher, double glass fronted refrigerator, pantry, microwave/conventional oven, plus a gas cook top with barbeque plate. Alternatively, our chef is happy to cater for groups of 20 or more.

Each living area is very spacious, consisting of quality leather lounges, a large flat screened television and coffee tables. All of our rooms are NON-SMOKING. An external undercover timber deck is situated at one end of each lodge which is a pleasant area to relax whilst taking in the expansive rural and mountain views of Mt Ainslie, renowned for its bush walking and mountain bike tracks. The large, on site, sealed parking area attached to these lodges is another feature, along with our extensive licensed convenience store. We also offer free wireless internet service. Directions to Carotel Motel

By Plane Canberra International Airport only serve flights from Melbourne and Sydney. There are flights almost hourly to Sydney and frequent flights to Melbourne. It takes approximately 50 minutes from Sydney, 1 hour from Melbourne, 2 hours from Brisbane and Adelaide, and 4 hours from Perth. The hotel is a 20 minute ride from Canberra.

By Train There are a lot of train connections offers scenic route going to Canberra from Sydney. The train rides takes 4 to 5 hours. Melbourne trains also serve routes going to Canberra.

By Bus All coaches from Canberra stop at the Jolimont Centre, in the city centre and immediately across the road from the Canberra local bus interchange.

By Car The drive from Sydney to Canberra is 290 km and takes around three and a half hours from the Sydney CBD, less from outer suburbs in Sydney. The drive from Melbourne to Canberra is 650 km and takes roughly eight hours on the Hume and Barton Highways, again mostly on dual-carriageway roads.
