The Civic Guest House Backpackers Hostel gives you a broad choice of room options ranging from shared dorms to private double rooms with ensuite, all with free linen. We consider a friendly service a must. Our aim is to offer our guests a memorable experience with a comfortable and quiet place to stay in a relaxed and friendly environment.

Come and chill out in the lounge room, prepare a meal in our large communal kitchen, play a game of pool or air hockey in our newly renovated games area.

300 days of sunshine each year, a long beach front esplanade, a lively restaurant and café scene, and zillions of things to do, most of them free! You won't get bored in Townsville.

The strand ice cream, cappuccino, and sunbathing- with its golden sand beach, water park, picnic and BBQ facilities, the Strand is a 2.5 km waterfront favourite. Swim with the turtles, take a dip in the Rock Pool, play a game of basket ball, or simply relax on the beach the choice is yours!

Stellar views from Castle Hill- walk, run or hop up to the top of Castle Hill, the giant red rock overlooking Townsville, to enjoy stunning views of the city, the bay, and Magnetic Island. For a romantic evening take the 'goat track' (2 km, 30 minutes) and marvel at the magical sights between city lights and the stars in the sky.

Great Barrier Reef at Reef HQ Aquarium- reef HQ Aquarium is the world's largest living coral reef aquarium. This is your chance to visit the reef without getting wet or the ideal opportunity to learn about the amazing marine life of the Great Barrier Reef before you get there. Experience cruising sharks and pay a visit to the Turtle Hospital.

Townsville airport is located approximately 6.5km from the centre of the city.  The Airport Shuttle bus undertakes scheduled services to various hotels and motels, the Strand and City, Sunferries and the Transit Centre. Bookings are required to be made for all pickups as some services only operate if required. Park Regis Anchorage Hotel is only a 10 minute drive from the Transit Centre and is located at 51 Palmer Street, Townsville.

Oz Experience offers a jump on, jump off bus service that operates south to Sydney and Brisbane and north to Cairns stopping at limited places along the way.
