With the choice of garden, pool or ocean view rooms, you will wake up feeling rejuvenated as you overlook the spectacular Whitsunday Islands in the Coral Sea. Several choices of guest rooms are available including delux spa and interconnecting rooms.

Functions

We have two fully equipped inside function rooms

The Dolphin Room is a versatile function venue with high ceilings and seating for up to 100 people.
The Seaspray Restaurant, Café and Bar has beautiful lighting and glass surrounds giving you great pool and ocean views. Two settings are available for you to choose from, one seating 61 to 100 guests at round tables, the other seating a maximum of 60 people at rectangular tables

We also have two outside venues to offer

The Poolside Marquee is available for your smaller functions seating up to 40 guests comfortably or more if cocktail style function is prefered. Our Poolside Bar serves drinks for your guests. The Oceanfront Beach Club with its open air rustic charm and tiered bench style table seating between 50 to 60 people. Catering is available at the Beach Club with your choice of a buffet style meal or platters.

Food and Drinks

All Dolphin Heads Resort function rooms are licenced until midnight and we have a wide selection of drinks available. If you have any special requests we are happy to try and source them for you.

A copy of our drinks menu is available at any time but as we are constantly upgrading our selection, prices may change so we recommend that you make your drinks selections close to the time of your function.

Seaspray Restaurant, Café and Bar- caters for all venues and can tailor menus just for you. We are also happy to discuss themed menus. In both our inside venues (Seaspray Restaurant, Café and Bar and the Dolphin Room) we offer you the choice of alternate drop, canapes, platters or placed set menus.

Configurations

We understand for your communication to be effective, the style or configuration of the room will be dependant on the number of delegates and the preferred style of the presenter or facilitator. Choose from a variety of floor plan suggestions or our Conference Coordinator can advise you how your seating arrangements will best fit our room. Your room will be fully set up prior to your arrival for readiness of facilitators final set up needs.

Weddings

Ceremony- experience this special moment overlooking the southern Whitsunday Islands and exchange your vows on our raised tiered oceanfront deck or tropical garden setting. The natural backdrop of the sun rising and setting over the ocean top creates the ultimate picture.

Reception- dolphin heads resort function facilities are smoke free and wish to advise all patrons there is no smoking where beverages or food are served or consumed. As all our grounds are licence to serve food, we have allocated designated smoking areas, and while in these areas you are not permitted to take any drinks or food. 

Available Venues

The Dolphin Room- the dolphin room is our versatile wedding venue with high ceilings and seating for a maximum of100 people with 10 on the bridal table and 9 round tables each seating 10 guests. For Cocktail style weddings the number of guests can increase on liaison with our Coordinators. 

Seaspray Bar and Restaurant- our second function room is Seaspray Bar and Restaurant with its beautiful lighting, glass surrounds with pool and ocean views. Seaspray also seats a maximum of 100 people with a bridal table of 10 and 9 round tables each seating 10 guests

Poolside Marquee- the poolside marquee is a glass free outside venue offering its outdoor wooden tables and chairs to seat up to 40. If you require us to move the seating out and you either hire dry bars or we supply small round tables.

Oceanfront Beach Club- our second outside venue is the Oceanfront Beach Club with tiered bench style seats and tables seating between 50 to 60 guests. The Beach Club Hire fee Public Holidays attract a surcharge to cover staff penalty rates.

Seating Plan- to assist our Coordinator in arranging your seating plan prior to your reception please complete accordingly. If you do not require all tables please cross out the tables you would like removed. If you are having name cards for your guests and would like us to place your individual name cards on the tables, you are required to separate each tables names in an envelope. 

Restaurant- serving breakfast and dinner daily (no dinner Sundays), we offer a sensational menu of innovative gourmet creation to suit the versatility of your dining experience. Choose from our pool side al fresco or air conditioned dining. Accompany your meal or relax poolside with an exotic cocktail or a choice from our premium wine, beer and beverage list. Come and enjoy our magical view, modern cuisine and fine service.

Directions to Dolphin Heads Resort

By car
The Bruce Highway is a coastal highway between Brisbane and Cairns and passes through Mackay. The Peak Downs Highway runs from Clermont North-East to terminate in Mackay.

By boat
Mackay it has a extensive marina is often the first stop for those exploring the Whitsunday Islands but no regular passenger ferries.

By bus
Greyhound bus lines have regular services from Brisbane stopping at airport and in Mackay itself on the way to Cairns and vice versa.
