Hump Backpackers was established in 2013 by brothers Nate and Ady from Sydney who, after years of travelling the globe, realised that Sydney was slightly off the pace in terms of comfortable, affordable, clean and funky backpacker’s accommodation especially in the backpacking hub of Sydney’s Kings Cross district.

The centrally located and iconic building at 40 Darlinghurst Road, formerly run as Sydney Globe Backpackers, was chosen as the perfect spot and the rest as they say is history!

Hump Backpackers mission is to provide young travellers with a home away from home while in Sydney. We provide spacious and comfortable 12, 8, 6 and 4 bed shared dorms as well as private rooms.

Blue Room

The world famous Blue Room is bound to be a highlight of your time at Hump Backpackers Hostel, Sydney. The room provides a venue to party within the hostel all night long with fellow travellers and is the ultimate way to meet new friends over a drink.

The Blue Room is equipped with a wall mounted TV, an incredible graffiti mural and an unbeatable outlook onto Kings Cross through the massive tinted windows.

TV Room

If you feel like chilling out with your feet up, our TV room is the place for you. With a massive TV featuring over 100 cable channels, you can catch up on movies, watch the latest sport, or indulge in a bit of trashy reality TV!

You can also grab one of the books from our library and sink into our comfy leather sofas while you unwind.

What better way to enjoy a summer’s afternoon than sipping on an icy cold beer, eating a sausage sandwich with the sun hitting your back.
