Fremantle Prison
Fremantle Prison is one of Western Australia’s premier cultural
heritage sites situated on 6 hectares overlooking the port city. Built
in the 1850s, it was the last convict prison built in Australia and remains
the most intact. It has the longest and tallest cell range constructed
by the British Royal Engineers Australia.
Take a tour with the experienced guides who bring the rich folklore and
stories of the prison to life. Tours daily (except Christmas Day and Good
Friday) commencing every 30 minutes – or for a completely different
perspective, experience the prison by night on an eerie Candlelight tour
each Wednesday and Friday night (bookings essential for night tours).
