University Village

Originally developed by the University of Canberra in 1968 to meet the need for student accommodation, the Village facility is comprised of five on campus self catered residential halls, offering a range of accommodation options to students at the University.

Rooms

College House Mulleum College House offers a relaxed environment with a strong focus on academic studies. The residence is perfect for postgraduate or mature age students who want to enjoy their own space.

International House Gurubun International House’s duplex style townhouses were refurbished in the summer of 09/10. Residents enjoy a choice of seven and nine bedroom apartments and a recently revamped student lounge, The Great Room. The Great Room offers a stylish communal kitchen, large TV, DVD player, Foxtel, a group study room, boardroom and coin operated laundry. The Great Room is open to all residents at University of Canberra Village.

New Apt Guginya Opened in 2009, these apartments offer a modern living option with coloured feature walls, stylish fittings, granite bench tops and contemporary furniture. Five bedroom apartments are fantastic for those looking to meet new people while two bedroom apartments are great if you like to enjoy some quiet time at home. One bedroom apartments have private living, dining and bathroom facilities, perfect for postgraduate students or those who want their own space.

Old Ressies Buru Old Ressies is the original accommodation built in 1969 and refurbished in 2008 with a total 250 residents. Great for first year undergraduates and offers plenty of opportunities to meet new people.

University Village Dyara University Village offers a selection of 12 bedroom apartments and a recreation hall called the Resource Centre. The Resource Centre features a large TV, DVD player, wifi, Foxtel and smart card operated laundry facilities. University Village offers a friendly communal environment for 240 residents where there’s no excuse to be bored.

Directions to University Village

By Plane Canberra International Airport only serve flights from Melbourne and Sydney. There are flights almost hourly to Sydney and frequent flights to Melbourne. It takes approximately 50 minutes from Sydney, 1 hour from Melbourne, 2 hours from Brisbane and Adelaide, and 4 hours from Perth. The hotel is a 20 minute ride from Canberra.

By Train There are a lot of train connections offers scenic route going to Canberra from Sydney. The train rides takes 4 to 5 hours. Melbourne trains also serve routes going to Canberra.

By Bus All coaches from Canberra stop at the Jolimont Centre, in the city centre and immediately across the road from the Canberra local bus interchange.

By Car The drive from Sydney to Canberra is 290 km and takes around three and a half hours from the Sydney CBD, less from outer suburbs in Sydney. The drive from Melbourne to Canberra is 650 km and takes roughly eight hours on the Hume and Barton Highways, again mostly on dual-carriageway roads.

Parkway (between the City and the town centres of Woden, Weston Creek and Tuggeranong) are 100km/h, though others are 80-90km/h.
