Vine Valley Inn is centrally located in Cessnock with ample off street parking to the rear of VVI. It’s position on Vincent Street main street Cessnock enables easy walking access from VVI to big name local supermarkets, shops, nearby restaurants, cafes, clubs and historic pubs with excellent food choices.

Also within walking distance is The Cessnock Performing Arts Centre, and The Cessnock Regional Art Gallery. The location of VVI enables it to be an ideal base in which to access all that The Hunter Valley has to offer.

There is an abundance of vineyards including a vast range of boutique and long standing family owned wineries producing world class wines with tastings 7 days a week. There are cheese producers and chocolatiers, local beer producers and a distillery that produces vodka, schnapps and gin. The area also offers world class golf courses, contemporary restaurants, antique shops, galleries and concerts showcasing performers from Australia and the world stage at various venues in The Hunter.

At Vine Valley Inn we have 13 rooms encompassing 3 different types of rooms. There are 2 Family Rooms, 9 King Rooms and 2 Twin Rooms. In saying that, we are flexible in the set up of our rooms if you are looking to book multiple rooms.

We encourage group bookings at our establishment. Vine Valley Inn promotes the idea that you are feeling comfortable and “at home” in our communal lounge, dining room and kitchen as well of course comfortable in your “bedroom”.

May we suggest you book a block of rooms for example, for a wedding or golf weekend? Our facilities more than adequately can accommodate for groups.

It is possible for us to change the way our rooms are set up, for such an event/booking, so if you potentially require an alternative setup of rooms please don’t hesitate to enquire. We take pride in the style of all of our rooms and our digs in general. Vine Valley Inn is “forever changing”. We incorporate, shift and renew “pieces” regularly.

We love our eclectic style, we hope you do too. We supply the basic essentials that you may need in our rooms. Tea and coffee making facilities are at hand as well as, airconditioning, fan, flat screen TV and a bar fridge to keep your wine and gourmet goodies fresh. Please let us know if you will need an iron and ironing board and we will supply it for you. We don’t offer a daily cleaning service as our intention is to keep our costs to a minimum, thus ensuring we can keep the cost down for you, our patrons. We also pride ourselves on our service, so if you are staying for more than one night we will certainly supply you with fresh towels should you need them as well as tea, coffee and milk. All you need to do is ask.

Wine tours -For the winery lovers, there is a plethora of choices. You could try a Hunter Valley Semillon. Chardonnays are popular grapes to the region since the 60’s and there are many varieties form different producers that need to be tasted! The choice is yours, there is an untold amount of producers in the region from small boutique wineries to the larger family owned and operated for generations wineries.

Plane

Cessnock Airport is the nearest gateway in the region that offers charter and helicopter flights only. Visitors from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane can take a flight going to Newcastle Airport for approximately an hour. Newcastle Airport which serves domestic flights is the second convenient gateway to reach Cessnock for an hour drive.

Trains and Buses

Take a train from Sydney Central going either to the stations in Maitland, Morisette or Newcastle. These three stations has connecting coaches going to Hunter Valley, Cessnock. Travel duration depends on the station prefered by passengers. It is advisable to check train timetables to plan ahead your journey.

Car

There are various routes from Sydney that could take you to Cessnock and the Hunter Valley Region. Drive north to Sydney Harbour Bridge and continue to the National Highway. Take the M1-Pacific Motorway going towards Newcastle and take the exit Freemans Drive- B 82 and continue to Vincent Street Cessnock. Visitors who are opt for wine tasting must have a reliable driver since the country has strict drinking laws that are policed throughout the region.
