Yowani Country Club Hotel Yowani Country Club is unique in Canberra, offering members and visitors a challenging 18 hole golf course, lawn bowling greens, motel unit accommodation, facilities for functions and conferences and a great restaurant. We’d love to see you at North Canberra’s only traditional, member owned country club. |
Accommodation Yowani Country Club offers 24 modern, self contained motel units situated next to the Southwell Park sporting complex at the corner of the Federal and Barton highways in Canberra’s inner north. The city centre is only 6 kms away along Northbourne Avenue, and the bustling Dickson shopping and restaurant precinct is just 1 km from our front door. All of our units are serviced daily and have a queen size bed and a double sofa couch, ensuite bathroom, heating and air conditioning. An additional single bed can be supplied if required. |
Functions Ideal for the corporate team building day and business meetings, Yowani Country Club has superb facilities at competitive prices. You might like to combine your meeting with a round of golf or bowls. The Club has a seminar room holding up to 150 theatre style, or 100 seated at tables. The room can be partitioned off for smaller groups of executives. Microphone and whiteboard are provided and other equipment can be arranged on request. |

Golf The 6330 metre Yowani Golf Course is regarded as one of Australia’s finest inland courses, reflecting over 50 years of careful development. The course is an excellent test for golfers of all abilities on gently undulating, tree lined fairways with two picturesque lakes. It is a golf course that guarantees something special to every player. Visitors and green fee players are most welcome but tee times may be limited. |

Bowls Bowls Yowani has three couch greens and light’s for play at night. Two greens have sun shading and seats at each end. New Bowlers Yowani actively encourages new bowlers, and free coaching with one of our qualified coaches can be arranged at a mutually convenient time. During the warmer months coaching clinics are held on Sunday mornings. Both new and experience bowlers attend these clinics and it is a great way for aspiring bowlers to get started. |
ActivitiesSocial Bowls Regular bowling days all year round. Players require neat casual dress and flat soled shoes. Bowls can be provided free of charge if you do not have your own. Corporate Bowls Yowani caters for groups of Corporate, or Bare Foot Bowlers, all year round. All bowls equipment is provided. Lights on each green allow for play after work. Functions using the restaurant and bar facilities at the club are welcome in conjunction with bowls. Participants must wear flat soled shoes or play in bare feet. Roll Ups Vacant greens are available for roll ups and practice Tuesday to Sunday. Players are requested to contribute $1 to assist with water and maintenance costs for each use of the greens. Open Events Yowani hosts a number of events each year which are open to bowlers from other clubs Women’s Six A Side Medley Carnival; Mixed Six A Side Medley Carnival; and Women’s Sports Day. These events are usually held in March, May and October respectively. Bowlers from other clubs in Canberra and the surrounding region are most welcome to participate. Club Championships Club Championships are conducted throughout the year to fit in with the Bowls ACT program. Yowani Bowl’s uniform is required for those competing in Championship Events. Championships events consist of Men’s Major Singles, Pairs, Triples and Fours; Women’s Major Singles, Pairs, Triples and Fours; Women’s Minor Singles and Pairs; Mixed Pairs and Mixed Fours; Handicapped Singles for men; and Encouragement Pairs and Drawn Triples for women. |
Pennant Yowani fields teams in Men’s and Women’s Pennants events run by Bowls ACT. Men’s pennant is played on Sundays and Women’s pennant is played on Tuesdays on dates to be advised by Bowls ACT. Pennant players are required to wear Yowani uniform. Travelling Bowlers A very strong Travelling Bowlers Group operates at the Club and welcomes visiting clubs all year round. |
