Reviews of Thakadu Camp in Ghanzi Botswana

We didn't stay here for long, we arrived after sunset and went shortly after sunrise. The continental breakfast was a bit sad, they had no cereal option or fresh fruit, I did like the fresh cooked game kebab they had offered though. The accommodation was a bit out dated and some work had to be done in the bathrooms, otherwise it was okay. the rooms were always clean and I was happy about the air conditioning that worked and the rooms were also quiet. The managing of the camp was a bit off, as there was lack of local knowledge from the staff.

It might have been the heat, but when we got there the reception staff was grumpy. The tented room we stayed in was filthy and needed maintenance work. And we didn't think it was funny when we noticed that there was only hot water in the shower while it was blazing hot outside. There was so many things loose in there, the basin the beds the railing of the stairs... Who's responsible for the up keeping of this place? The food was good and the view of the waterhole, again even the veranda felt unstable.

This Bush Camp was one out of many places I had visited on my safari in Botswana. The wildlife is spectacular and the bushman walks are very interesting. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. All the staff treat you the same and deliver excellent work. The meals were great and the restaurant and bar is just a few metres away from the Thakudu's pan where you can see Eland, Kudu Ostrich etc.... This place will see me again that's for sure.
