About Camp Okavango
Situated on the remote Nxaragha Island in the heart of the permanent Okavango Delta, the newly rebuilt Camp Okavango offers a year-round water wilderness experience.
The thatch and lethaka (reeded) main building, which houses the reading lounge and cocktail bar, opens onto an expansive outdoor lounge and fireplace built under large Jackalberry trees. Shaded hammocks, reading benches, and a plunge pool provide relief during the hot midday hours, while a secluded bird hide offers stunning views of the floodplains.
Accommodation
Camp Okavango accommodates 24 guests in safari-style tents (including a new family tent), each individually situated on raised teak platforms with en-suite facilities and private sun decks. Each guest room has been carefully positioned beneath the natural Okavango Delta vegetation, offering impeccable views over the delta.
Inside, the expansive open-plan rooms include a bedroom (with either a double or twin configuration), lounge, and en-suite bathroom. The en-suite bathrooms feature double vanities, double showers, and a separate water closet. Large stack-away sliding doors open onto a private viewing deck, offering spectacular scenery.
The new family unit incorporates two separate bedrooms, both with en-suite bathrooms and inter-leading doors for easy access between rooms. With the inclusion of a family room, Camp Okavango is now part of the Ultimate Family Safari Packages, providing families the opportunity to experience the diversity of Botswana with an easy-to-book and flexible itinerary.
Activities
For an outdoor African experience, guests can explore the Okavango by canoe or river craft, or enjoy guided nature walks around the islands of the delta.
