About Little Vumbura
Little Vumbura Camp is situated on an island in a private concession in the northern reaches of the Okavango Delta, in the same region as its sister camp, Vumbura Plains.
Surrounded by water and close to large rivers, water-based activities are a focal point at Little Vumbura Camp.
Guests can enjoy mokoro trips across the floodplains, guided by experienced polers, and motorboats travelling along the permanent channels.
Accommodation
The camp features six beautiful, spacious tents shaded by the canopy of an ancient Okavango Delta forest. Each tent is large, airy, and equipped with en-suite facilities.
A plunge pool and reading area overlook the floodplains, and a star deck leads off the dining area, providing a serene atmosphere for relaxation.
Activities
- Game drives in open Land Rovers allow guests to get close to animals in the savannah areas.
- Walks (on request) around the islands provide an opportunity to experience Africa from a different perspective.
- Water-based activities, including mokoro trips and motorboat cruises, are available.
Wildlife
Game viewing is consistently excellent year-round at Little Vumbura Camp, with sightings of lion, leopard, elephant, sable, and buffalo.
Extensive plains game can also be seen, offering a well-rounded wildlife experience in this remote corner of the Okavango Delta.
Community Participation
Little Vumbura Camp is part of a community participation initiative at Wilderness Safaris, helping integrate the local communities that live around the Okavango Delta into the tourism industry.
