About Royal Delta Lodge
Majestically cradled between the Selinda Spillway and Vumbura Plains within the famous Okavango Delta, the Royal Delta Lodge is located in an exclusive area overlooking a permanent lagoon encircled by large arboured trees.
This magnificent location offers sweeping vistas of the Royal Delta Lagoon and the expanse beyond, ensuring breathtaking views of wildlife and birdlife from the surroundings of the lodge.
Accommodation
The lodge features ten luxury safari tents, each with its own private deck and pool, set on raised wooden platforms overlooking the languid waters of the Royal Delta Lagoon. The tents have been designed to blend seamlessly into the surrounding bushveld, creating a tranquil ambience that offers the epitome of a classic ‘Out of Africa’ Safari experience.
The lodge and suites are decorated in a contemporary style and carefully furnished with a tasteful selection of African artefacts. This juxtaposition of organic textures and rich earthy colours with modern lines invites nature in and reflects a sophisticated and fresh take on the traditional African Safari, embracing all the amenities of a luxury lodge.
Luxury Suite
Seven carefully positioned luxury tents are perched on raised wooden platforms, offering uninterrupted panoramic views of the surrounding Royal Delta Lagoon. Each Luxury Suite boasts a private plunge pool—perfect for a sundowner or nightcap—whilst enjoying the sights and sounds of nature at its best.
The fireplace creates a warm, relaxing ambience for romantic evenings and long, cosy nights. The bathrooms are fully en-suite and include his and hers basins, a shower, and an indulgent bathtub.
Family Suite
The Family Suite is located in close proximity to the main areas of the lodge and boasts two bedrooms, each en-suite, separated by a lounge area that overlooks a private plunge pool. The design and layout of this suite ensure that social areas flow seamlessly while retaining privacy when desired.
Honeymoon Suite
Each Honeymoon Suite features a large bed surrounded by walk-in mosquito netting, a wood-fired hot tub, a giant round bath, unique romantic turndowns, and a carefully selected blend of textures and colours to embrace the spirit of romance.
Located to create a feeling of seclusion and intimacy, these suites offer uninterrupted views of the surrounding environment while maintaining individual privacy.
Discovery Tent
Inspired by the Cabinets of Curiosities or Wunderkammer of the Victorian era, the Discovery Tent is filled with a collection of fauna, flora, and other interesting objects from the indigenous surroundings.
This unique room offers guests the opportunity to learn more about the Okavango Delta and local wildlife, either on their own or with the assistance of our guides. The key feature of the Discovery Tent is a 3D map of the lodge, allowing guests to gain a better understanding of the lodge’s layout and the expansiveness of the Delta.
Explorer's Tent
Reminiscent of a bygone era, the Explorer's Tent captures the spirit of early explorers with a Livingstone-style tent lavishly furnished with authentic antiques, a wrought iron bed, travel trunks, and all the essential equipment for a 19th-century African expedition. Here, guests can be transported back in time to the age of Thomas Baines and experience the Okavango Delta from the perspective of an intrepid traveller.
