The house consists of an imposing Victorian front addition to a 17th century farmhouse. The self-catering apartment consists of the south facing Victorian front and the more rustic Cider Barn.
The Victorian apartment retains most of the original features such as, high moulded ceilings, marble fireplaces and wooden floors. The Period furniture matches the Victorian features although a modern kitchen and facilities have been added.
The Cider Barn incorporates part of the 17th century farmhouse and the original cider barn with exposed beams and slate floors. 2010 was our first year of business.
Since then we have opened the Cider Barn and have been continually improving the house and grounds. We have spent a lot of time this year landscaping the grounds, adding new flowerbeds, an orchard and a wildlife pond.
Whilst in a rural setting Model Farm is only 8 minutes from the centre of Bridgwater, close to the coast, Quantock Hills, and the towns of Taunton, Glastonbury and Wells.

Model Farm Country House Accommodation
The accommodation at Model Farm is very versatile; we can host small parties up to large groups of 15 or more.
The Victorian apartment links to the Cider Barn apartment via a small set of stairs and two doors making one large apartment with 6 or 7 bedrooms and a lounge and dining room that can both seat 15 in comfort.
Many of the beds can either be large king-size or split into 2 singles, so allowing for a variety of different group types.

The Victorian Apartment: The apartment consists of 3 en-suite bedrooms, a lounge, kitchen/dining room and impressive hallway with a floor area in excess of 2200 square ft. It is fully centrally heated with thermostatically controlled radiators and open fires in the lounge and kitchen/dining room.
The rooms all have large south facing windows overlooking 4 acres of grounds where we have just planted 500 trees. As well as use of the grounds you will have access to the front garden and lawns, with ample garden furniture.
We have installed a fully equipped kitchen with all you would expect from your own kitchen including: - dishwasher, fridge, freezer, oven, hob, microwave and ironing facilities.
A washing machine is also available in the boiler room. A DAB radio with IPOD and PS3 docking stations has recently been added. The dining table comfortably seats 8 with additional seating around the room, plus an attractive window seat for a lovely view of the grounds.
An additional table is placed in the room for larger groups, seating 15 together. All the tableware is matching Royal Doulton porcelain with ample glasses and cutlery.
Treat yourself to a full dinner party or make a simple snack. The large lounge has leather chesterfields, digital Television and radio, CD, DVD and Blu-ray player. We also provide a selection of books, local maps and games. There are 3 extremely spacious en-suite bedrooms.
The master bedroom has a king sized bed and walk in dressing room while the other 2 bedrooms can be set up as either twins or super kings. There are 2 additional beds that can be placed in any of the bedrooms depending on requirements.
All rooms have antique furniture and other thoughtful extras to make your stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible.
An additional double en-suite bedroom can sometimes be made available with the Victorian apartment allowing up to 10 people to stay.

Cider Barn: The apartment consists of 3 bedrooms; a double en-suite, a double or 2 singles and a single, a lounge with a double sofa bed, a bathroom, and a kitchen/diner. It is fully centrally heated with thermostatically controlled radiators and a log burner in the lounge.
Outside the Cider Barn door is a covered loggia and BBQ which leads onto the front garden and lawns, with ample garden furniture.
Across the drive are 4 acres of grounds where we have planted 500 trees. We have just installed a fully equipped kitchen with all you would expect from your own kitchen including: - dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, cooker, microwave and ironing facilities.
The dining table comfortably seats 7. All the tableware is matching porcelain with ample glasses and cutlery. Treat yourself to a full dinner party or make a simple snack. The lounge has leather setees, digital television, radio, CD and DVD.
We also provide a selection of books, local maps and games. All rooms have antique furniture and other thoughtful extras to make your stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible. All the beds are new with fine quality cotton linen.
A reduced sized Cider Barn for 3 can be made available on request, as above but without the en-suite double bedroom.
