The town of Holt is 22.8 miles (36.7 km) north of the city of Norwich, 9.5 miles (15.3 km) west of Cromer and 35 miles (56 km) east of King's Lynn. A great place for a weekend break in Norfolk has to be Holt. This pretty Georgian market town, nestled in the North Norfolk countryside, is brimming over with many interesting antique, arts and crafts and gift shops. Stroll around the town of Holt and you will soon feel all your worries slip away. Rebuilt after a devastating fire in 1708, the town has a wonderful character with colourful Georgian buildings and a modest parish church that is open to visitors. A must during your visit to Holt has to be a journey on the North Norfolk Railway. For those wanting a bit of heritage, visit the Muckleburgh Collection - an extensive military museum plus restaurant and shop. Or get in touch with nature at Holt Country Park. The beautiful landscape of woodland, meadows, flora and fauna is a haven for wildlife of all sizes and is great place for the whole family to visit.
