Places to stay in PolzeathPolzeath is situated on the North coast of Cornwall, it hosts a fantastic
beach and village and is also one of the worlds most renowned surfing
destinations. Within walking distance from Polzeath are some other magnificent
places to visit; Rock, Daymer Bay, Pentire point, St Minver, Trebetherick,
the list goes on... All of these places can be reached by the local coastal
paths that offer spectacular views over looking Cornwall's rugged coast
line and out to the Atlantic Ocean. Polzeath is home to the Voluntary
Marine Wildlife Reserve. Polzeath is also a dog free beach from Easter
Day to October 1st. Polzeath and Daymer were favourite haunts of the late
poet laureate, Sir John Betjeman, who lays at St Enodoc, and is celebrated
in some of his verse. Another poet, Laurence Binyon wrote the Remembrance
Day ode For the Fallen in 1914 while sitting on The Rumps, Polzeath or
"Polseath" as it was then called. |
