This Grade II Listed Building is located in the heart of St.
Albans' historic Romeland. Our bright, spacious rooms offer the
best views in the city, overlooking the Cathedral and the ancient
Abbey Gateway; entrance to Roman Verulamium.
This leads past the Fighting Cocks pub into open parkland, museums
and lake with its diversity of aquatic birds. Also under our windows
is George Street, which marks the beginning of the city centre shops,
bars and restaurants.
Named after the protestant martyr, George Tankerfield, burned at
the stake in Romeland in 1555, Tankerfield House is steeped in history
but has all modern amenities.
Its unique position, with the train station only a fifteen minute
walk away, makes it ideal for professional stays as well as romantic
weekends.
