The Village was originally called Suth Burh - South Fort - an outpost
for the nearby, larger, village of Brigstock.
The village boasts a pub, named after a local landowning family, that
offers a particularly varied selection of 'real ales'.
The village once had its own brewery, started in the 1500s.
