Situated in a rural hamlet in the heart of the Derbyshire Peak
District National Park, our holiday cottages offer one of the best
rural locations in the Derbyshire Peak District. Brushfield is on
the Edge of Monsal Dale and lies on a sunny south facing hillside
high above Taddington Dale.
Set in the midst of the beautiful Derbyshire Peak District, Middle
Farm Holiday Cottages have outstanding views across open landscapes.
It is an idyllic setting providing peace and tranquility. We have
two holiday cottages. Maigold Cottage sleeps 4. Albertine Barn sleeps
8.
Approached along a quiet country lane and surrounded by fields and
woodland our holiday cottages are hidden deep in the countryside,
yet are central to all the attractions of the Derbyshire Peak District.
Middle Farm is an ideal location for those wishing to explore the
rich diversity of life and landscape within the Derbyshire Peak
District.

Middle Farm Accommodation
Albertine Barn: The two storey conversion has stunning
views across the valley. Accommodation includes ground floor twin
bedroom and ground floor shower / toilet. The barn sleeps 8. Features
in the barn include:
• Full central heating and double-glazing.
• Shared laundrette facilities.
• Garden and grounds enjoy sun for the majority of the day.
• Ample parking. Linen and towels provided. Cot and high chair
are available.
• Modern, individually designed, Well Equipped Kitchen with
hob, oven, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. Quarry tiles,
pine and oak beams and recessed light fittings lend a special atmosphere
to the room.
• Dining area looks out across the former farmyard (with a
view down the valley).
• Spacious Lounge with picture views over the valley.
• Colours and fabrics are carefully co-ordinated.
• TV, DVD and Video Player and wi-fe access.
• 2 Double Bedrooms and 2 Twin Bedrooms, one of which is on
the ground floor.
• The 2 upstairs double bedrooms can have en suite facilities
by limiting access from corridor areas.
• Exposed floorboards with occasional rugs add to the charm
and comfort.
• Use of pine beams throughout, including exposed trusses
in upstairs bedrooms.
• Bathroom and Shower room upstairs and a separate shower/toilet
on ground floor level.
Maigold Cottage: The cottage is a superb barn
conversion providing single storey accommodation throughout, making
it suitable for those with mobility requirements. The cottage sleeps
4. Features in the cottage include:
• Spacious lounge with beamed ceiling and traditional log
burning stove (an initial supply of fuel is provided). Tastefully
decorated and furnished and contains a piano, TV, DVD, video player
and wi-fi access.
• Entrance porch area with grit stone flag floor, ideal for
storing coats and wet boots.
• Large farm style dining kitchen with fully fitted units.
Well equipped with hob, oven, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher.
Slate floor, pine and oak beams.
• Large attractive double bedroom with exposed roof trusses
and an external door to the patio area.
• Twin bedroom has a beamed ceiling.
• Bathroom and WC / Separate shower room and WC.
• Shared laundrette facilities.
• The sunny patio has furniture and a barbeque.
• Ample parking. Linen and towels provided. Cot and high chair
are available.

Middle Farm / Nearby Activities and Attractions
• There are many excellent picturesque walks from the doorstep.
Monsal Dale, with its famous trail, Millers Dale and High Dale are
only a short walk away. Walkers can enjoy spectacular views and
the opportunity to observe an abundance of wild flowers, animals
and bird life.
• Middle Farm Holiday Cottages provides a good all year round
base for a full range of activities including; rock climbing, caving,
horse riding, gliding, fishing, mountain biking, golf and swimming.
• Ashford in the Water, just down the road from Brushfield,
is a delightful traditional Derbyshire village with all the basic
amenities including post office, village store / delicatessent,
hotel, restaurant and public house. Enjoy a stroll by the river
and across the Sheepwash bridge and be sure to visit the beautiful
Church which dates back hundreds of years.
• Bakewell, capital of the Peak District is only a few miles
away. Agriculture is still the basic activity and the Monday cattle
market is one of the largest in the country. It is an attractive
market town, so pop in for lunch, take a walk by the river, visit
the Bakewell Pudding shop or do a little shopping, it’s well
worth a visit!
• The Spa town of Buxton with its imposing architecture, beautiful
Opera House and Pavillion Gardens is a 15 minute drive away.
• Visit the pretty village of Eyam, famous for the plague
brought from London in 1665 in a consignment of clothes. Or the
underground limestone caverns at Castleton where semi-precious Blue
John can be found.
• Chatsworth and Haddon Hall are within easy reach offering
different insights into the life of a bygone age.
• Chatsworth House, owned by the Duke of Devonshire, is steeped
in history and full of beautiful works of art. The parks and gardens
have been enhanced by famous landscape gardeners such as Capability
Brown and Joseph Paxton.
• Haddon Hall dating back to the early 1300s is the finest
medieval house in the country.
• Hardwick Hall now owned by the National Trust has been left
largely untouched and is a classic example of an Elizabethan manor
house.
