Superior Mews Room: With natural stone walls, exposed
wooden roof timbers, Victorian slate windowsills, and views out
over our private courtyard, these double rooms blend traditional
charm with a calm and quiet touch of contemporary style.
The rooms are fully appointed with all the usual Browns Hotel refinements:
luxurious Egyptian cotton sheets, bathrobes, Molton Brown toiletries,
LCD TV (including Sky Sports and Sky News) and DVD, DVD library,
digital radio, Wi-Fi access, telephone ports and modem connections,
voicemail, direct dial telephone and in-room safe. With armchair,
coffee table and writing desk/dressing table.
A welcome tray, with teas, coffees, hot chocolate, biscuits and
mineral water drawn from the hotel's Roman well, awaits your arrival.
All rooms are non-smoking.
Superior Townhouse Room: These are our most spacious
rooms in the house, they are equipped with all of the facilities
of the standard rooms; however they offer Queen Size beds in addition
to a desk area, writing table, coffee table, arm chair and a comfortable
sofa for relaxing and unwinding.
Our Superior Rooms located in the main Town House are steeped in
history, with the main house formerly the only Coaching House in
Tavistock and dates from 1898, the property was originally built
by the Duke of Bedford. The sofa bed in the sitting area can accommodate
two children or one adult, providing maximum occupancy of 4 people.
These rooms are front facing and overlook the picturesque town of
Tavistock, comfortable rooms in calming colours with a traditional
theme, sumptuous carpets and luxurious new beds. We have sourced
the finest linen available; the beds are prepared with Egyptian
cotton bed linen.
The bathrooms are beautifully fully tiled from top to bottom, presented
in the bathrooms are Molton Brown therapy toiletries and a selection
of white fluffy towels ranging from small hand towels to large Turkish
bath towels. In the room you will also find your own bath robe to
use during your stay.
A complimentary welcome tray of varied tea & coffee, hot chocolate
and luxury biscuits is provided together with complimentary mineral
water drawn from the Hotel's own well that dates back to pre-Roman
Times. For your in-room entertainment the superior rooms have Roberts
Radio, flat screen HD Ready Toshiba LCD TV & DVD with accompanying
DVD library.
If you are here on business or would like to bring your laptop there
is access to the Wi-Fi that runs throughout the hotel. The room
also offers direct dial telephones with voicemail. There is also
an alarm clock, trouser press, reading lights, dressing table and
writing desk in your room.
Four Poster Room: This spacious, romantic room
features a sumptuous king-sized four poster bed with antique oak
end. Finest Egyptian cotton bed linen and champagne-toned soft voile
dressings.
The bathroom offers luxury Molton Brown therapy toiletries, and
lavish Turkish bath towels and bathrobes. Three quarter length leaded
windows overlook the hotel's attractive courtyard, and there's a
seating area with two armchairs and coffee table.

Executive Room: The Executive Room is one of the
finest rooms here at Browns Hotel. It exudes character and originality;
natural exposed original stone walls featuring a 'Gable End Wall'
greet you as you walk through the door. Located in the Mews - originally
the stables for the coaching house, dating from 1898 and built by
The Duke of Bedford.
To your left you will find the original rectangular vents that were
used to keep the hay ventilated back in 18th Century - now stained
with an antique glass. To the right you will be met by a 'Juliet
Balcony' that overlooks the private courtyard allowing natural daylight
to cascade through.
The exposed original roof timber beams add to the feel with a hanging
five spoke chandelier centre lighting piece. This king-size bedroom
offers a superb light and airy space together with a sofa and seating
area perfect for that relaxing moment before the evening commences,
or it is possible to set a table by the window for an intimate dinner
for two.
The sofa can be converted into a double bed for a third adult or
two children as a family room. These rooms come complete with a
good sized letter writing or vanity dressing area as standard. If
you are planning a romantic trip away this is the ideal room for
you and will truly create a memorable experience.
