Withernsea is a traditional holiday resort in the East Riding of Yorkshire, sporting a recently re-designed and attractively rebuilt promenade. The famous lighthouse towers above the houses, some 127 feet high, home of the Lighthouse Museum with its tribute to Kay Kendall. The Pier Towers on the promenade are the last surviving part of the once proud 19th century pier. The splendid beach provides plenty of enjoyment for everyone young and old. The Pavilion Leisure Centre boasts excellent facilities, both wet and dry, with its superb swimming pool, gym, sauna, sports hall and squash courts.
