Woodhouse Eaves is young (a few hundred years) compared with the neighbouring village of 'Old' Woodhouse, which goes back to Doomsday times. Both form part of the administrative parish of Woodhouse within the Borough of Charnwood, but they have their own individual identities. Woodhouse is essentially a quiet but pretty rural village situated a few miles south of Loughborough. The village is relatively small with only about 130 homes and 430 residents identified at the last census. It has no shops, pubs or restaurants and little or no industry. However, it has close links with its larger neighbour Woodhouse Eaves with which it forms the Parish of Woodhouse.
