The Kaokoveld in the north-western corner of Namibia is one of very few true wilderness areas left in the world.

Hoanib Valley Camp Kaokoland

Its arid landscapes with rocky Mountains and dry riverbeds creates a unique piece of land where true adventurers enjoy travelling through the barren area in search of desert adapted elephant and giraffe.

The Sesfontein Community Conservancy and Palmwag Concession brought some development to the area, in partnership with companies setting up eco-friendly accommodation facilities, leaving a very light footprint in this untouched and remote landscape.

The Hoanib Valley Camp is located in a hidden valley, surrounded by jagged mountains and reachable by travelling through the mountains in an ancient, dry riverbed.

The eco-friendly tents, built with locally sourced material, provide luxurious accommodation in this remote and rural area, leaving a light footprint.

Five twin tents and one family tent - built on composite decks made of wood, bamboo and recycled material - accommodate a maximum of 14 persons at a time.

Hoanib Valley Camp Amenities

Even though Hoanib Valley Camp is a family friendly facility, it must be noted that the camp is not fenced and therefore wild animals often move through the camp without warning.

The whole camp is run on solar power and local craftsmen were involved with creating the furniture and decor items used.
