The Okavango River is one of the very few rivers worldwide that does not flow into the ocean but instead runs into the permanent and seasonal lakes and swamps of the Okavango Delta, where it equilibrates through evaporation. Flowing through three countries, the river is called Cubango in Angola, Kavango in Namibia, and Okavango in Botswana.
Forming part of the border between Namibia and Angola, this essential source of life is the fourth longest river system in Southern Africa.
