Great Hotel in a bad
area |
The worst hotel on VIP Inn Beira is its location:
hard to find in a small side street in a loud one-way streets and
in the vicinity of the port, so a little bit dodgy. The hotel itself
is perfectly fine otherwise. The staff are very friendly, there
is a free shuttle service to and from the airport, a guarded parking
lot, only the restaurant could be spiced up a bit. The dishes themselves
are good. The rooms are cozy and comfortable. I only had problems
with the shower (in two rooms): there was only very cold and boiling
hot water. Everything in between was only available for about 10
seconds. The hotel has WiFi, this works mostly.

just an average Hotel |
VIP Hotel makes an attempt to provide a standard
4 star service at Beira. It is a business type hotel and there is
not much to say about it. The hotel is new and clean and provides
the usual amenities you may expect. The staff is friendly and makes
a great effort to provide quality service, but it is clear that
some training is still required and that their response to unexpected
situations is a little bit confusing. Rooms are clean and OK, albeit
a noisy compressor on the back of the hotel is a little bit annoying
in spite of the double screen windows .The breakfast was the lowest
point of the stay. The quality was adequate for minimum service,
but not for the price tag of this hotel. Overall, I believe the
price ratio it somewhat below average. Anyway, is a "safe option"
for who is looking for a standard service hotel.

Staff training required |
The VIP Hotel is a new hotel in Beira, and probably
it was opened not too long ago. The size of the rooms is small but
sufficient, the shower area could be larger and better designed
but all in all it is acceptable. Breakfast is just simple. The service
at breakfast leaves much to be desired, the waiters are neither
attentive nor do they know their job. Well, possibly there is no
job description. The Portuguese manager could do a better job too,
I never saw him taking his breakfast there otherwise he would know
that service is very, very basic, and that there is plenty of room
for improvement. Neither internet access nor TV was functioning.
There is no back up power during the daily power cuts in Beira.

Modern hotel |
I stayed in this hotel for just the one night. The hotel was clean and looked
to a certain extent, as if it was new. The room was medium sized
with a large double bed, separate bathroom with basin, shower and
toilet. Flat screen TV with about 30 channels including some in
english. The room did not have any view to speak of but that was
not important to me. The room had a bar fridge and a free bottle
of water. As a nice touch, the hotel has free Wi-Fi. The only down
side there was no room service and, in fact, they made a point of
stressing that guests were not allowed to eat food in their rooms.
The dinner was very basic but tasty. Breakfast was a little sparse
but it could be because I was a bit late getting there. Perhaps
there would have been more variety if I had got there when breakfast
started. |
