Reviews of Mango Beach Lodge in Tofo Mozambique

We were disappointed when we got to Tofo; the town is more of a surfing/diving than a backpacker’s town. When we got here we were taken aback by the beauty and serenity of this place. We stayed in a lovely reed cabin hidden in the palm groves behind the sand dune. The host and staff were friendly, knowledgeable and charming; the town is about half an hours’ walk from Mango Beach, the food was pricy but to die for.

I was part of a small group of divers and we settled for Mango beach as our base, we had our breakfast, lunch and dinner at this establishment. We had a four course dinner with fish being our main dish; the food was well presented, appetising and scrumptious.

In the mornings we usually got packed breakfast since we wanted to be at the beach in the early hours of the morning. The bar is perched on a dune top with amazing views of the beach and Tofo. The rooms were very simple and clean, the room was serviced on a daily basis and the bathroom had hot water all the time. I will definitely come back next time.
