Reviews of Tofo Beach Backpackers in Tofo Mozambique

Tofo is a lovely charming place with amazing white sand beaches. The backpacker was once school and now has been converted, there are 5 spacious, clean and tidy dorms on the premises. The self-catering kitchen is well equipped, there is a public area at the back, where you can sit and chat.

The front office is the television lounge for the management, this place has a potential if there can maintain the grounds and revamp their buildings.

We were warmly welcomed on our arrival here. We stayed in the bungalow for more than a week, our bungalow had no ocean view it could have been nicer. Tony was friendly and helpful and the guy knows almost everyone in the area, he organised a dive for us and we got a 10% discount and a horse ride. The owner of the place was very rude and kept shouting at her staff, I think Tony should open his own place and leave because he is good at what he does.

One good thing about this backpacker is the closeness to the beach, shops and restaurant. This place is just one of those that have nothing special to them, but I liked the chilled vibe and the peace. I opted for camping and my friend opted for a dorm, he had to provide his own sheets.

The campsite was not well shaded but it suited me just fine, the bathroom in the ablution block had a few showers. If you are looking for less expensive accommodation close to the beach then this backpackers is for you.
