Reviews of Turtle Cove in Tofo Mozambique

The resort is located between two beaches Tofo and Tofinho, the resort is not located on the beach it’s actually an unpleasant walking distance from the resort to the beach. We spent a few days at the resort and we had a chance to look at their campsite which is clean and well maintained, the staff is companionable and helpful but for housekeeping you have to ask them to do it otherwise you will find your room dirty if you don’t.

There is a mosquito net, fan and mosquito repellent to help ease the bits and noise, there is a local club next to one end of the camp and the noise kept us awake the whole night it was so irritating. At the time of our stay there was no internet and the manager said it was one of their pipeline projects. There are a lot of things to do in the area like yoga, deep sea fishing, scuba and tours to the mangroves.

We stayed in a rented house for a few days and went to Turtle Cove for drinks; we liked what we saw and decided to move and stay here instead. It’s about 10 minutes’ walk to the beach, the place is good, the rates are good, there is complimentary Wi-Fi, a nice bar and a hammock for relaxing.

The food was good we tried out some new dishes to us like the Barracuda at dinner and the feta cheese, onion omelette at breakfast. The staff was friendly, helpful and always there to assist if need be. There are a lot of activities in and around the place like diving, surfing, yoga, walking and sunbathing

Turtle Cove is a beautiful small hotel; there is lots of accommodation to choose from depending on your pocket and the number of people. The beach is about 20 minutes away from the hotel but the road leading to the beach is sandy and it’s uphill.

The outside bathroom was a bit uncomfortable for me, we had our travel fridge which there wanted to charge us to plug it, and they ended up dropping the charges after complaining. A damage deposit is payable on arrival and refundable on check out depending on what you damaged during your stay there.
