Vilanculos Archipelago Resort is truly the most

All accommodation is self-catering, but for those who do not wish to
cook for themselves, the resort restaurant serves a tasty menu. Meals
can also be delivered to the casa's. Pool and beach braais can be arranged.
Vilanculos Archipelago Resort Accommodation
The Indonesian styled, self-catering casas sleep six people and consist
of:
• One bedroom with double bed and en suite bathroom with shower
• One bedroom with two single beds and a bathroom
• A mezzanine floor with two single beds
• There is a lounge, dining room
• Fully equipped kitchen
• Magnificent veranda overlooking the Indian Ocean
There are ceiling fans throughout.
Vilanculos Archipelago Resort Restaurant
For those guests who do not wish to cater for themselves, prawn kebabs,
calamari, seafood platters, piri -piri chicken and line fish fresh from
the sea await you at the Sand Dollar Restaurant.
Fish braais and pizza parties can be arranged. Next to the restaurant
you will find our well stocked bar where you can relax and enjoy an ice
cold local beer, a glass of wine or one of our special cocktails whilst
snacking on tempura prawns and cashew nuts. Very enjoyable!
Vilanculos Archipelago Resort Activities
Golf: have immense fun on the chip and putt 9 hole course
in the shade of the indigenous trees.
Swimming: Swim in the pool or in the warm ocean. The
child friendly Archipelago beach is perfect for children, relax in the
shade as the little ones collect shells and chase crabs. They will love
watching the local fishermen bring in their daily catch
Fishing: Enjoy a thrilling day out deep sea fishing.
All your fishing requirements can be arranged at the resort.
Visits the Islands: Take a day trip on a dhow. The Archipelago
Islands are truly idyllic and still untouched. Sun bleached Pansy Shells
lay in the sand.
Run or slide down the biggest natural sea dune in the world. Encounter
views you will never, ever forget! Flocks of flamingoes will fly past
your boat if you venture too close!
Snorkel off the Archipelago beach: Go further afield
to see the star fish which are all colours of the rainbow.
Watch the Humpback Whales and Whale Sharks as they circle your boat from
August to October.
Horse riding: canter in the waves or take a longer ride that encompasses
a lunch in the local village. All rides arranged at the resort.
How to Get To Vilanculos Archipelago Resort
By Road
Directions from the North – (Zimbabwe to Vilanculos)
The distance from the Mutare border post to Vilanculos is 580kms. If you
are traveling from Zimbabwe, Tete or Chimoio: follow the main Beira road
and turn south at Inchope.
This is the National road EN1 to Inhassoro, Vilanculos, Xai-Xai and Maputo.
You will cross the Revue, Busi and Save Rivers. The Vilanculos turn-off
is approximately 380 km from Inchope.
At Pambarra you turn-off to the left and Vilanculos is 20 km from Pambarra.
Our signs in the village will lead you to the Lodge, which lies approximately
5km north of the village.
Parts of the road after the Save Rive Bride are pot-holed and caution
should be exercised. A 4x4 vehicle is not necessary at any stage of the
journey.
Directions from the South - (South Africa (Nelspruit) to Vilankulos)
Vilanculos is 750km by road from Maputo. The distance from Nelspruit to
Vilankulos is 910kms. Follow the main toll road from Komatipoort to Maputo.
Just before entering Maputo, you turn left onto the National road EN1
to the North (Xai-Xai, Inhambane, Vilanculos, and Beira).
From this point the turn-off to Vilanculos is approximately 780 km and
you will travel through Xai-Xai, Maxixe and Massinga.
At Pambarra you will find the Vilanculos turn-off (to the right). Vilanculos
is 20 km from the Pambarra turn-off. Our signs in the village will lead
you to the Lodge, which lies approximately 5km north of the village.
By Air
Archipelago Resort is located 7km south of the coastal town of Vilanculos,
and 2km from the Vilanculos International Airport.
The airport is fully staffed by Customs and Immigration (visas available
at the airport), and is serviced regularly from Johannesburg and Maputo.
Vilanculos is 750km by road from Maputo or one could fly from Maputo on
LAM the National Airliner.
