Canda Island Mozambique

Canda Island is a self-catering resort that is located between the fresh water lakes and the warm tropical waters of the Indian Ocean in the Inhambane Province of Mozambique.

This resort offers an idyllic fishing (game and beach) holiday for the deep-sea angler, the family and friends “away from it all” holiday maker and the 4 X 4 adventure seeker. All the Casa`s enjoy unspoiled sea views and for potential investors an option to own a home in a pristine environment.

Canda Island is only accessible via the beach on one side, a boat from the sea or lake and then the more interesting route which is via the 4 x 4 path over a bridge which allows you to enter this piece of paradise. The area is run as a nature reserve taking into consideration the fauna and flora and the local people. Green practices are in place to sort the refuge, and tests are continually being run on various methods of trying to produce power and to keep the area as natural as possible.

Accommodation available at Canda Island:

There are eighteen homes available to be used as holiday facilities, each is privately owned and therefore individually equipped and furnished. They are all behind the second dune as is required by law and have free access to the beach. Fishing boats and jet skis , with the correct fishing licenses are all parked in one area where they are monitored and where a facility exists to clean the fish caught during the day.

Other than this there is just white sand on either side of you and blue ocean in front of you - a lifestyle resort of unequalled quality.

Casa Accommodation Facilities:
· All houses are equipped to sleep a maximum of 8 people
· All houses are equipped with a freezer and fridge
· All houses are equipped with gas stoves and gas geysers (gas provided by Canda)
· All houses are equipped with fire extinguishers
· Cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils and pots are provided
· Water in taps is not fit for human consumption. Borehole water is available at the nearby village
· Bring sufficient water for the first night – a 5L container
· For those houses that do not have permanent electricity
· Generator times: 05:00 – 07:00, 11:00 – 13:00 & 17:00 – 23:00.
· Additional generator hours can be arranged at the office at an additional cost
· Internet connectivity is available on “MOVITEL” close to the office where there is a booster.
· Please bring your own household items, and insect repellent (HIGH RISK MALARIA AREA).
· Bathing and swimming towels to be brought with
