Welcome to Chuiba Palms, a brand-new self-catering and B&B development on Pemba's finest beach.

Our four beautiful and fully-equipped beach villas are the only accommodation on over 5 km of truly unspoilt beachfront.

Chuiba Palms is a great choice for families, small groups and those who want to enjoy the best of Mozambique's coastline while remaining within easy reach of the facilities of Pemba. Chuiba Palms and Chuiba village are found on the Southern outskirts of Pemba town, which is situated on the vast and beautiful Pemba Bay and is the capital of Cabo DelgadoProvince in the far North of Mozambique.

Accommodation

Our four beach-front villas were designed by a local architect to combine traditional building materials - stone, thatch and timber - with a spacious and practical lay-out so as to to assure your comfort and enjoyment, and, of course, the best view of the Ocean.

Three of the villas have 2 bedrooms, each with their own bathroom, and an open-plan living, dining and kitchen area. A sofa bed extends the accommodation to a maximum of 6. The fourth villa has an extra bedroom and can sleep up to 7. All the villas are fully equipped for self-catering, although we do offer a breakfast service.

Families

Chuiba Palms is an excellent choice for families, with a beautiful calm beach that offers safe swimming, and many small pools to explore at low tide. Our swimming pool is a firm favourite with kids, and includes a baby pool for our smallest guests.

Our accommodation was designed with families in mind, and baby equipment is available on advance request.

On-site services

A daily cleaning service is provided, between 8 am and 12 pm.
A laundry service is also available.
Breakfast trays - if required - will be brought to your villa at around 8am, or later if requested.
Board and beach games are available at reception, free of charge.
Our swimming pool is available to guests at all times, but there is no lifeguard. The pool bar is open 8am-4pm week-days and until 6pm at week-ends.

Activities and excursions

A number of activities can be organised with other local operators, including snorkelling, dolphin safaris and scuba diving, sport fishing, city tours, day trips and more. Local tour operators, Kaskazini, have a good range of activities on offer, and can be contacted on 082 309 6990 (in Mozambique).

Social and Environmental responsibility

Chuiba Palms is committed to protecting the local environment and contributing positively to local community development.

The use of sustainably-sourced building materials, minimal site disturbance, and careful water management all contribute to this aim. As Chuiba is a turtle nesting beach, outside lighting is kept low, and any nests are actively protected.

We have a good relationship with Chuiba Village and are working towards implementing several initiatives such as a school feeding programme for young children, and a no-fishing area in front of the lodge to help re-build depleted fish stocks.

The Team

Chuiba Palms is owned and managed by an expatriate husband and wife team, Paulo and Rebecca, who have been based in Pemba since 2001.

All our staff are either from Chuiba Village or from surrounding areas, and all building staff were also local, helping to build local capacity and experience.
