In the north of Mozambique at Nacala this wonderful diving lodge is an idyllic escape from the world, A-frame chalets overlooking the bay each has, bathroom, fan, mosquito net and sea-view veranda. The restaurant surrounds the swimming pool spilling out onto the decking with wonderful views of the sunset over the bay.

At our dive sites you will be able to see an enormous variety of marine life including frog fish, leaf fish, nudibranchs and even sea-horses.
Above the waters you will find an array of rare and beautiful insects like the cryptically patterned Monkey Moths or the rare, non-venomous Tailless Whip Scorpions, countless dragonflies as well as the many nocturnal stick insects and colourful butterflies. We are also blessed with pre-historic looking water monitors , bush babies and the comical vervet monkeys plus countless more fury / scaly / feathery friends.

Where is Libelula Diving?

By Road: (about 2 hrs from Nampula)
Leave Nampula heading towards Nacala-Bay/Nacala-Porto taking the EN 8, after reaching Namiallo, continue on the EN 8 for a further 100 Kms. Pass the turn off to the left for Nacala Velha, and continue for a further 7Kms.
The road forks, take the right fork. After 2 Kms, take the turning to the right. If you reach the BP Station, you have gone too far. Continue on this road for approx. 10 Kms, and you will see the sign for LIBÉLULA to your left, opposite the air base.

Follow the dirt road down the hill, and follow the signs for LIBÉLULA as you reach the bottom. A chapa (the local minibus service) is also available from Nampula to Nacala, departing Nampula Bus Station.

By Air
It is possible to fly to Nampula from Johannesburg, Maputo, Beira, Pemba. These are available through LAM, SAA. Once in Nampula, chapa services are available, or we can organise a transfer for you, but please contact us to confirm the transfer cost and arrangements. Charter air services are available direct to Nacala air strip.
