Nuarro Lodge, where dreams come true
Nuarro is an unspoiled and breathtakingly beautiful place located in the blue waters of the Indian Ocean in Northern Mozambique.
Reception
The guests of Nuarro are welcomed in a very special reception area positioned
at the top of a dune overlooking the magnificent Memba Bay. This building
leads to the Beach Bar and Marine Activity Centre. From here our visitors
can enjoy the bush-lined walkways to their chalets, take the beach route or
be driven, if more convenient.
There is a safe room for the storage of valuables and a luggage storage room. The reception area has a computer for Internet access and Wi-Fi is also available. It has a comfortable sitting area and a pleasant beach bar. Next to the reception is the office area, where managers are available at all times to attend to any need. At the reception there is also a shop where you can buy handmade items.
Ehopa (#1)
Chalet Ehopa, which means fish was our first chalet built. It is nice and
close to the Activity Centre and Beach Bar and has a king-sized bed. It has
a magnificent sea views from the veranda, and a beautiful view over the valley
from behind highlighting baobabs many thousands of years old.
Inviriviri (#2)
Chalet Inviriviri means bird not very far from Ehopa (#1), which makes it
perfect for families with older children (parents in Ehopa and children in
Inviriviri). The chalet has a king-size bed (which can also be converted into
two single beds). The large veranda has awesome sea views and from the rear,
the chalet overlooks a beautiful valley with a few baobabs many thousands
of years old.
Nacoco (#3)
Chalet Nacoco, which means lizard, larger than both Ehopa (#1) and Inviriviri
(#2) chalets. It has a king-size bed (can also be converted into 2 single
beds) and has enough space to fit an extra single bed. The chalet is ideal
for couples, two singles, or even three singles. The sea views from the front
and great and the rear overlooks a valley with baobabs many thousands of years
old.
Eflori (#4)
Chalet Eflori, meaning flower offers fantastic privacy and is ideal for couples.
It has a king-size bed (but can also be used as two single beds) and also
has enough space for an extra single bed. Suitable for a couple, family of
three or three singles, this chalet is extremely versatile. It has nice sea
views from the large veranda and partial views of the valley and African bush
veld from the rear.
Ezizi (#5)
Chalet Ezizi, which means owl is ideal for a family or group of 4. This is
the first of our two Family chalets. It has a king size bed (which can also
be converted to two singles) as well as ample space for two extra single beds
in the same area. Amazing sea view from the veranda and African bush-veld
from the rear. With tons of privacy, this is the ideal options for families
with smaller children.
Nzua (#6)
Chalet Nzua, which means sunset is right in the middle between the Activities
Centre to the south and the Restaurant to the north. It is situated very close
to the beach. It has one king-size (which can be converted into two singles)
and an extra single bed. There is African bush veld at the rear of the chalet
and it is conveniently close to the footpath that leads to the restaurant
and beach bar. The chalet has a private path leading to the beach with daybed.
Ehassa (#7)
Chalet Ehassa, which translates into turtle is a very spacious chalet which
is located slightly further back, than the other chalets. It has a king-size
bed (which can also be converted into two singles) and an extra single bed.
The chalet is built in the bush veld but still has sea views from the large
veranda, giving it the best of both worlds.
Seresere (#8)
Chalet Seresere, is named after the whale, and is located quite close to the
sea and beach. It has a king-size bed (which can also be converted into a
twin) and an extra single bed. It has great sea views from the veranda and
is located close to the footpath at the rear.
Nhtondo (#9)
Chalet Nhtondo, meaning star is relatively close to Chalet Seresere (#8),
making it ideal for groups of friends and families with older children (parents
in Seresere and children in Nhtondo). It is also located near to the stunning
beach and walking path at the rear. It has a king-size bed (which can also
be prepared as twin beds) and an extra single bed. It has sea views from the
veranda.
Nlapa (#10)
Chalet Nlapa, meaning Baobab is our second family chalet. It has a king-size
bed (can also converted into two singles), and has enough space in the room
for two extra single beds, being ideal for families of three or four. It has
a wide path leading to the beach with daybed and the veranda boasts stunning
sea views to the side and front. Chalet Baobab is located relatively close
to the restaurant and about 600 meters from the beach bar and Activity Centre.
Ecalawa (#11)
Chalet Ecalawa, meaning dhow is nice and close to the sea and also the restaurant.
At high tide you can hear the sea crashing up against the rocks in front of
the chalet. There are beautiful sea views to the side and front. The chalet
has a king-size bed (which can also be prepared as twin beds) and an extra
single bed.
Nicorotho (#12)
Chalet Nicorotho, which means butterfly is situated above a small beach cove,
with coral rock formations, the sea and also the closest to the restaurant.
At high tide you can hear the sea crashing against the rocks. The chalet has
a king-size bed (which can also be converted into twin beds) and an extra
single bed. It has awesome sea views from the veranda.
Nuarro Beach
Nuarro beach is simply stunning and easy to reach from your chalet. Have a look
at the whales, go snorkelling or enjoy a nice walk along the beach and watch
the local fishermen.
Not only do we have the spectacular 2km long lodge beach, but there are many
other private beaches, hidden (at a short distance) for some romantic private
picnics or for you to spend the day alone with your other half or family.
The private beaches are accessible by boat, bike, car and feet.
Nuarro Bay is a protected area. The biodiversity is unprecedented. You can go diving directly from the beach amid a beautiful coral reef. From July to December, Humpback whales visit the bay with their young.
A panoramic high-class restaurant & cocktail bar is located on the west end of the beach. It has a beautiful view of “Nanatha Island Rock” and the bay beyond. Fresh seafood and salads form a creative menu comprising traditional and international cuisine. The restaurant has a sunken lounge area.
To relax the day away, chill out after an activity or simply watch the whales swimming in the bay (from July to November), the Beach Bar is a great informal spot where light snacks can be enjoyed throughout the day. The Beach Bar is located next to the Marine Activity Centre and has a large wooden deck giving a full sea view and beach access. Comfort and informal atmosphere are the themes at this spot.
Diving at Nuarro Lodge
Nuarro is an unspoiled and breathtakingly beautiful Eco-Beach Lodge located
