Travessia is an Eco Beach Lodge that is all about understated barefoot-luxury. A mere one and a half hours drive from the airport of Inhambane, and just six kilometres of sandy track away from the main road, the lodge is accessible and yet remote to give you that instant feeling of being cast-away. Our secluded casas have 180° sea views, spacious decks, a hammock and en-suite outdoor showers.
The lodge is built on raised wooden decks with timber or roll-up canvas walls under a thatched roof. The lodge is entirely solar powered – ensuring a light environmental foot print. Take a walk on our endless beach, relax in the shade of our palm grove, paddle out or gaze at the sea from our rimflowpool or accept an invite from the neighboring community.
Sophisticated whilst down to earth, with no-one around for miles, Travessia Beach Lodge is situated between coastal forest and palm trees on the dunes along an endless beach. At low tide, the surf is perfect to take the canoe for a paddle and both children and adults will enjoy boogie boarding whilst the little ones love the small natural “pools” that are created when the tide goes out.
Travessia is for families, individual travelers and couples alike. We are not in a protected bay with flat water like Vilankulos or Tofo. This means that there is always a bit of a surf and at low tide you don't have to walk for miles to get to the water. You will have the beach almost entirely to yourself, except for our local fishermen and the occasional children or women from the neighboring village.
Casa de Mel, Casa Tartaruga
& Casa Baleia are located on raised wooden decks with canvas
walls under a thatched roof. With King or Twin beds (all have mosquito nets),
all En-suite bathrooms with separate toilets and outdoor shower. All 3 casas
also have sweeping 180° sea views and spacious private decks with a hammock
Casa Madeira is located on raised wooden deck with timber walls under a thatched roof. Boasting a bedroom with Queen bed (incl. mosquito net), En-suite bathroom with separate shower and toilet. For convienence Casa Madeira also has a private deck with hammock and offers 360° seaviews.
