Welcome to Wakene Beach Estate
Located on 18 acres of Coastal Dune Forest with its own beach front, only 2km North of Ponta Malongane. Wakene Beach Estate is both a residential and tourism Estate that offers houses and beach front sites to investors who would like to own their houses on this beautiful coast.
The pristine forest and its natural flora and funa has been preserved for the enjoyment of our guests who are avid nature enthusiast and wish to get away from the more busy / populated villages of Malongane and Ponta do Oura, and enjoy peace and tranquillity.
Accommodation: Luxury Tents
This Tented “Safari Style” camp accommodates a maximum of 12 persons in Luxury Tents. Each tent sleeps 4 persons. Two tents have double beds and 2 single beds and the third has 4 single beds. All linen and bath towels are included in these furnished units with pedestal fans.
The camp is raised on a wooden deck with interconnected walkways. Each Tent has a decked verandah with seating to enjoy the magnificent view over the forest canopy onto the sea.
There is an enclosed kitchen/dining area leading onto an open deck with sliding glass doors, a separate scullery and one and a half bathrooms with an additional open air shower.
The camp has 220Volt electricity, gas and a 12Volt back up lighting.
This fully serviced Luxury Camp with fully time maid and ample facilities
offers the ideal break away for group holidays.
Accommodation: Dunes Chalets
These fully serviced self contained units offer an affordable alternative. Each Unit in the Dune Forest 500m from the Estate beach front, have no sea view but guests have a peaceful forest setting from which to explore the Surrounding Mozambique Attractions.There is access to the beach from a Communal parking area and wooden walkway with stairs.
Each Chalet has two bedrooms and a bathroom. All linen and bath towels are
provided and the unit is serviced daily by a full time cleaner. There is a
fully equipped kitchen with a fridge/freezer, microwave oven, kettle, two
plate cooker. The kitchen is open-plan to the living area. There is a private
braai/Lapha area at each unit.
Accommodation: Camp Sites
Nestled behind the main dune, on the Wakene Beach Estate, within the coastal forest lie six secluded camp sites, each with their own private ablution. The ablutions for each include a full bathroom with toilets, shower and basin plus an additional separate toilet and kitchen/scullery.
The private sites are approx 200-300sqm and accommodate up to 12 guests. Power and water is available at each site. The building style is typical of the area with reed walls and thatch roof, however the building has been finished to the highest standards with fully tiled interiors and are serviced daily.
Toilet paper and cleaning materials, including dish washing liquid are supplied.

night sounds of the dune forest and the lapping
Of the waves on the seashore.
An ideal base to explore the surrounding area and enjoy the indigenous coastal forest with prolific bird life and natural game on the estate. Each campsite is within 300m of the private beach of Wakene Estate.

Unit 2: Casa Madeira 16 sleeper
The unit is fully equipped with 6 en suite bedrooms comprising 3 rooms with queen size beds and 3 rooms with twin single beds. Four additional pullout beds with mattresses and linen are available. All linen and bath towels are provided and the unit is serviced daily by a full time maid. The kitchen facilities include an up right fridge/freezer combo, a separate full fridge, microwave, electric kettle, 5 plate gas hob and electric oven. There is a large chest freezer in the laundry which includes a washing machine, tumble drier and ironing facilities. In addition to the open plan kitchen/lounge, the unit boasts an 81 square meter deck, with a super large alfresco dining table with benches that offer amazing sea views. Braai facilities includes a portable stainless steel charcoal braai which can be used on the open deck.

Unit 4 - Blaker's House - 9 sleeper
This magnificent villa of timber construction has a beautifully manicured garden with a wooden walk way directly on the beach. This unit has 4 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms, a full dining and lounge with DSTV. A separate kitchen has all the modern conveniences and ample space with fridge, freezer, microwave, toaster, ice machine and double sink. The real gem is the 81sqm deck with stainless steel balustrades with a full sea view. Enjoy alfresco dining at a 10 seater table with benches and a three gas burner braai on the deck. This 9 sleeper unit, fully serviced with cleaning materials, linen and towels on the beach is ideally suited to two families or 8 adults.

Unit 5 - Saaiman's -10 sleeper
A magnificent Villa of timber construction.This unit offers 4 bedrooms all
– en suite overlooking 180° Ocean View.
There is a fully equipped kitchen with both electric and separate gas ovens,
fridge, chest freezer and Ice machine.
The 81sq meter deck offers alfresco dining for 10 persons with a full size gas
braai griller. In addition on the extended deck overlooking the sea is a full
size Jacuzzi off the main dining deck. The unit is fully serviced and all linen
and bath towels supplied. There is a washing machine in the Scullery for guests
to use. A short walk onto the beach walkway, with an outdoor shower to rinse
off at the unit entrance, Make this a very sought after accommodation.

Unit 11 - Wakene House -10 sleeper
Spanning 3 levels, the 1st level offers a covered car park under the building
with a full separate store room. The 2nd level has 3 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms,
one of which is en-suite. The top level nestled in the dune canopy has a fully
equipped kitchen with ice machine, electric and gas stoves, 2 fridges and a
chest freezer. In addition there is a full living area with indoor dinning and
lounge with 2 additional single beds. With the double bunks in the second bedroom.
This units sleeps a maximum of 10 persons. Off the top floor living area is
a wrap around open deck with alfresco dining table and braai area on one side.
This unit is special in that it has a 360° view with its location on the
highest dune, there are limited sea views because of the forest canopy but spectacular
sunset views over the Coastal Forest. All linen and bath towels supplied, including
cleaning materials and toilet paper. This unit is fully serviced daily by a
full time maid.

Directions
Wakene Residential Estate is situated approximately 15 km North of Kosi Bay
in Southern Mozambique.
From Durban, take the N2 north. Turn onto the R22 at Hluhluwe and follow signs
to Sodwana Bay and then Kosi Bay. From Joburg, take the N17 to Ermelo, the N2
to Jozini, and then follow signs to Kosi Bay.
The sandy tracks on the Mozambican side of the border appear confusing at first,
but they're mostly just deviations from two main roads: the one that goes straight
(north) to Maputo 0 take this one to get to the Maputo Elephant Reserve and
the Santa Maria Peninsula - and the one that goes right (east) to Ponta do Ouro,
Ponta Malongane and Ponta Mamoli.
The right hand tracks split into sand extreme tracks on the Mozambiquen side
with two distinct directions, the one to the right leads to Ponto do Ouro and
the other to Ponto Malongane. Take the Ponto Malongane sand track (approximately
half an hour's drive to Malongane Village).
Turn left at Blue Bulls bar (Sharks Bar is opposite). Travel North past Mbenga
bar on Right and continue for approximately 15 minutes. Wakene Signage is on
the right.
