Reviews of Mahangu Safari Lodge in Caprivi Strip Namibia

We spent three nights here and the location is spectacular and next to the river and the sunset over the river was amazing. Dinner was served on the deck next to the swimming hippos; the food was good and plentiful. We felt safe sleeping behind closed doors instead of the campsite because we saw hippos from our deck roaming freely on the grounds.

We went for a boat trip and wow it was phenomenal. The only negative for us was the unclean rooms, the furniture was mismatched, uncreatively decorated and the manager seemed too reluctant to answer our questions. The staff looked unhappy and lacked motivation.

We spent two nights and we were impressed by their standards, the lodge was my favourite of all the Namibian lodges we’ve stayed in. The tent was well equipped with toilet, shower and sink, there were clean and the room was spotless, the room has an air conditioner, room-safe, ceiling fan and parking was safe and secure just next to our room.

Breakfast and dinner was delicious and the views from the deck were stunning. Our trips were organised by the lodge on request and at an extra charge but it was a weight off our shoulders. We saw a lot of animals: kudu, impala, elephants, hippos, buffalo, giraffe and warthogs.
