Reviews of Huab Lodge in Khorixas Namibia

On arrival we were warmly greeted by the hosts and led into the dining room / living room we had a meal with the host’s family. We were about 10 people at the table, including only 4 guests, the rest of the family. This was very unusual for the first moment, but developed into a very leisurely lunch. The lunch was excellent.

When we came into the room after lunch the luggage was already there. The rooms seem a little dated because of the bedspreads, however, were huge, clean and equipped with a large terrace. The afternoon at the pool and we enjoyed the spa. In addition, there was the water hole and we saw guinea fowl and other birds, larger animals we were unfortunately not seen.
Dinner was back with the family, the two other guests, as well as friendly guides. It was very comfortable and there was lots of laughter. Breakfast the next morning was also very generous. There were also freshly baked banana, dates and whole grain bread. Everything was presented very nicely.

The journey to the lodge is a bit awkward, as these about 35 km from the main road away and the road is really only suitable for 4x4 vehicles. The lodge itself then makes up for everything. It is beautifully nestled in the landscape.
There is a lot of emphasis on environmental sustainability. Thus, the entire system is powered almost entirely by solar energy. There is no air conditioning in the bungalows. The rooms are specifically designed that at night, a light breeze blows through the room and cools it accordingly. The meals were very delicious.

Friendly staff is concerned about nature. Unfortunately, there are no more elephants on site but there are still a lot of birds. All the guests sat together to eat with the staff at a large table the food is good. The service does not match the standard of other lodges in the same price segment. This place is mainly for nature and bird lovers suitable.
