We spent the last night of our trip at Okapuka Ranch
before flying home and we wish we had stayed a few days more. The
ranch has a lovely setting just 40km out of Windhoek and we had
a nice, basic but spacious and comfortable thatched room.
We didn't do any of the drives but we enjoyed watching the warthogs
and antelopes that graze on the lawn at sunset and afterwards. The
food was okay but nothing spectacular and the wine list seemed to
be fine. The best part of our stay was listening to the sounds of
roaring lions (which are kept on the ranch along with crocodiles)
throughout the night and into the early morning. |
