The Etosha National Park is a world-renowned sanctuary for African wildlife, situated around the spectacular Etosha Pana vast, bare salt pan in the north of Namibia. The word "Etosha" means "great white place" in the language of the local Ovambo people, and it is believed that the pan was formed over 100 million years ago.

There are four camps in Etosha, offering a variety of accommodation options. Halali is situated in the eastern part of the park, about halfway between Namutoni and Okaukuejo. Because Halali is not close to an entrance gate, it is the less frequented camp in the park, which makes it ideal for campers enjoying peace and quiet, as well as the sounds of the bush and wildlife at night.
