Fiume is owner-managed and situated just 30 km north from the town of Grootfontein and 3 km from the B8. Fiume Lodge is an ideal stopover for travellers en route to the north of Namibia, the Caprivi, as well as Botswana and Victoria Falls.
The lodge's ideal location also provides easy access to Bushman land, Khaudom National Park, and Etosha National Park. The lodge is situated on a 1400-hectare private game farm with more than 10 different big game species and smaller mammal species.
Fiume Lodge Accommodation
Comfortable accommodation is offered in six stylish chalets, all equipped with air-conditioning, en-suite bathrooms, twin beds, mosquito nets, as well as built-in cupboards to lock valuables for peace of mind. Each chalet is built from stone and topped with thatch, with interiors designed with rose pine wood to create that cosy “warm” feeling people appreciate when travelling far from home.

Game Drives
Morning or afternoon game drives are offered on the 1400-hectare privately owned land. Game species at the lodge include Eland, Oryx, Zebra, Kudu, Hartebeest, Impala, Springbok, Blesbok, Giraffe, and Ostrich, as well as many different bird and smaller mammal species including the Damara Dik Dik. Game drives are 1½ - 2 hours in duration where we will explore the bush and its inhabitants.
Bushmen Excursions
Both half and full-day tours include breakfast and lunch packs. Half-day tours will head back to the lodge right after lunch, and full-day tours will arrive back at the lodge just before sunset. Clients can expect the most informal, liberating learning experience about these people, their history, lifestyle, and culture.
What to look forward to: Bush walk, village life, making of tools, jewellery and weapons. They will teach how to start a fire, how and what to use as medicines and the different roles of men and women in the community.
"A Day in the Life of a Namibian Farmer" Excursion
A half or full day including breakfast and lunch with the farmer and his wife. During breakfast, the farmer will explain what duties are on the agenda for the day as well as a bit of history about the farm and the animals farmed with.
From there, guests will accompany the farmer observing and taking part in the duties assigned for that day. If clients decide on a half-day activity they will leave after lunch and the full-day clients will leave the farm just before sunset.
Where is Fiume Lodge?
Travel through Grootfontein on the B8 and continue past the Berg Aukas turn-off on the right. From the Berg Aukas turn-off, continue straight for approximately 18 km and then turn off onto a gravel road to the left. Travel 3 km on this dirt road to the lodge. The entrance is just before a right bend in the road.
