Since 1st May 2001, Air Namibia has been servicing Lianshulu Lodge directly, on their daily, scheduled flight between Windhoek and Katima Mulilo.

To facilitate easy access to Botswana, Lianshulu Lodge has an immigration official living at the lodge allowing Lianshulu to act as a border crossing point.

Accommodation at Lianshulu Lodge is 9 twin rooms and 1 family room, which can house 4 people. Each room is individually styled and tastefully furnished, and are made from a combination of reed, brick and thatch.

Each has it's own an en-suite bathroom, mosquito nets and private, outside deck. The ample interval between the units, ensures complete privacy.

The airy thatched dining, lounge and bar areas, library and curio shop have been built using local craftsmen and natural materials. They open out onto spacious, split-level wooden decks, affording sweeping views over the Lianshulu Lagoon.

A huge variety of wildlife can often be observed and photographed from these excellent, purpose built, vantage points.

Guests will appreciate either of the 2 fireplaces, especially as those cold winter nights draw in. There is also a secluded swimming pool, positioned to create that idyllic spot, in which to relax and appreciate the tranquillity of the natural environment.

Lianshulu Lodge is renown for its superb kitchen fare, which is overseen by a professional chef. Sumptuous meals include buffet breakfast and lunches, and a set 3 course candlelit dinner.

Coffee and liqueurs, served around an inviting fire, complete the day. The lodge is powered by a combination of generator and solar energy.

The Mudumu National Park

The Mudumu National Park has an abundant amount of wildlife, including buffalo, zebra, wildebeest and waterbuck. Elephant and hippo in particular can be found in great numbers. Predators are sometimes encountered, and around 400 bird species have been recorded in the East Caprivi. Crocodiles and fish such as bream, tigerfish and catfish can be seen

Activities

Activities include nature drives into the National Park and boat cruises along the Kwando River. Trips to the Lizauli Village can be organized, and visitors can witness the daily goings on of an authentic African home.

Basket weaving, cooking, a visit to the witch doctor, and an up-date of local court cases, can all be experienced in this amazing habitat.

There is an airstrip 5mins drive away, for exclusive use of the Lianshulu's guests, where transfers to and from the lodge can be arranged. To facilitate easy access to Botswana, Lianshulu Lodge can be used as a border crossing to Botswana by boat, but only for it's guests.

Cultural Visits

Lianshulu Lodge assisted the Lizauli Community, 13km to the north of the Lodge, in developing a traditional village as a tourist attraction. Members of the Lizauli Community provide greater insight into local Caprivi life, from traditional practices to dancing displays, and the profits are shared amongst the community.

Children over the age of 6 years old are welcome.
